Pusha T Reveals Why Kanye West Calls Him In The Middle Of The Night

Kanye West’s brand of leadership is very Michael Scott-esque. Yeezy seems like a kindhearted and familial boss who means well, but ultimately revels in the unbridled chaos of it all. In an interview with Power 105.1′s Angie Martinez, Pusha T opened up about his new album, DAYTONA, a potential tour with Nas, and updates on the rest of the G.O.O.D. Music roster. However, the most fascinating portion of the conversation arrived when Pusha described the challenges of working with West during the album making process.

“He [Kanye] changed my artwork last night at 1 a.m.,” Push said. “He changed my artwork at 1 a.m. ’cause he wasn’t feeling it.”

According to the G.O.O.D. Music president, the artwork for his album was completed and agreed upon by all parties. However, at the last minute Kanye decided the photos weren’t exactly what the world needed to see.

“[At] 1 a.m. my phone rings, no caller ID,” he continued. “‘Hey, yeah, I think we should change the artwork. I like this other artwork.’ Now this other artwork is 85 grand, right. I said, hey, I don’t want to pay for that and I wasn’t even going to ask you to pay for that. We picked what we picked. It’s here. It’s ready. [He said,] ‘No this is what people need to see to go along with this music. I’mma pay for that.’”

Kanye is reportedly producing four more albums in the coming weeks. Guess Kid Cudi, Teyana Taylor, and Nas are going to be getting a lot of early morning phone calls.

Kanye West Reveals New adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 for Fall/Winter

The adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 is apparently the next big push from Kanye West and his growing YEEZY company. To no surprise, the man behind his nicknamesake brand already has a pair in a colorway we’ve never seen.

Approved for Q4 — Holiday Season or Fall/Winter depending on the drop date — as said by West, this grey and gum makeup sees the updated chunky runner remaining muted and tonal. This is in line with other 700 V2s we’ve seen on or from Kanye, appearing in White/Grey and Black/Grey thus far.

Sporting the same sole tooling as its predecessor with a slightly less aggressive upper, preview the self explantatory style below and expect these to hit shelves near the end of the year.

Kanye West Reveals Original adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Sample

Recent as they may be, 2015’s adidas Yeezy Boost 350 “Turtle Dove” serves as a classic to some. An event by most measures, the quite and comfy kicks caused quite a stir with many mimics to come.

Not a mimic but rather the origin, Kanye West took to Twitter to reveal an original sample of said shoe in on-foot fashion.

To even the obsessed eye, differences are slim. The shaping on the sample proves slightly higher yet chunkier, while black collar trim and a more pronounced print/lighter base tone are apparent. In addition, the laces also sport reverse contrast with black playing the base and grey serving as the subtle contrast.

Kanye West Previews adidas Yeezy 700 V2

Kanye West took to Twitter earlier this afternoon to preview the upcoming adidas Yeezy 700 V2. The second edition of the largely popular Yeezy 700, and a shoe West says he “loves.”

Although certainly of a similar volition as the model’s aforementioned predecessor, the V2 edition also undeniably stands on its own. True to the retro aesthetics currently trending in the sneaker industry, breathable construction adorns much of the body while reflective details aids that design language while equally heightening visibility.

West appears to have much in store with adidas for the remainder of 2018, some of which he shared on Twitter in weeks past. The social media platform, though, has been problematic for West. Many of his thoughts and stream of consciousness state there have proven ill-advised. Yet adidas has affirmed that they have no plans of parting ways with West.

Kanye West References His Opioid Addiction (And The Sunken Place) On New Verse

With every erratic new bit of information from Kanye West these days, there’s still the hope (however faint it may be at this point) that he’ll release a new song that can magically reset the clock to before we entered this darkest timeline. On Friday (May 4), Kanye offered up what might be that via a guest verse on “Watch,” a new Travis Scott track also featuring Lil Uzi Vert.

What’s most notable about ‘Ye’s verse here is that he uses his platform to rebuff the folks who’ve recently joked that his behavior as of late means that he’s trapped in the “Sunken Place,” that dreaded hellscape void from Jordan Peele’s Oscar-nominated 2017 film Get Out.

“One year it’s Illuminati, next year it’s the Sunken Place / They don’t want me to change, nah, n—a run in place,” Kanye raps, right after he also addresses his apparent opioid addiction, which he brought up this week in a controversial interview with TMZ.

Wanna know how I feel? Step into my minefield
Wanna know how pain feels? I got off my main pills
Bet my wifey stay close, she know I’m on my Bezos
Opioid addiction, pharmacy’s the real trap

For the record, Kanye’s verse takes up about a minute of the song’s 3:37 runtime, and “Watch” also features great contributions from Scott and Uzi. And at the end, you can hear what sounds a lot like Kylie Jenner’s voice repeating the hook and adding her own bar: “And I told him I wanted to have a bust down baby.”

Maybe in the future, we’ll get a sample of Stormi Webster’s baby voice on a Scott track — her very own Blue Ivy freestyle. Until then, and until Kanye’s next project drops potentially in June, check out “Watch” above.

Kanye West Returned To Social Media To Talk About Tattoos, Shoes, And Consciousness

On Friday (April 13), Kanye West made his miraculous return to Twitter. Last May, Kanye deactivated his Twitter and Instagram accounts, but re-activated the latter as part of Kim Kardashian’s Valentine’s Day gift. Over the weekend, Kanye made sure his tweets covered a wide range of topics including, tattoo ideas and his favorite Saint Pablo merch. However, he also started to show off the inspiration behind various models of his Yeezy sneaker line.

The reasoning behind this might come from a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where Kanye sat down with interior designer Axel Vervoordt. During the discussion, Kanye admits to being upset after multiple publications describe Virgil Abloh — recently appointed to Louis Vuitton’s menswear artistic director — as his creative director, instead of creative collaborator.

“It’s not bad or good, it’s my creative collaborator being the head of Louis Vuitton,” Kanye said. “Because [Abloh and I] have been fighting to make apparel at a certain price that still has the same credibility and desirability as something at a higher price…But when they say he was my creative director, that’s incorrect. He was a creative collaborator.”

Later in the discussion, The Life of Pablo-artist shares his ultimate goal with his fashion line.

“At Adidas, I have Yeezy, but it’s a namesake brand,” West continued. “It’s my nickname. We do these sneakers that sell out and we get, ‘Oh, this is the number one brand on Women’s Wear Daily.’ And I don’t wish to be number one anymore, I wish to be water. I wish to be closer to UNICEF or something where I can take the information that I have and help as many people as possible, not to just shove it into a brand”

Hopefully, Kanye will start getting the credit he deserves and keeps dropping mental jewels on Twitter.

Kanye West Is Apparently Back On His Mountaintop Making Music

Kanye West famously recorded his 2010 album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, in Hawaii, and the stories of personalities as disparate as Rick Ross, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, and Nicki Minaj making music amid clouds of weed smoke are legendary. As West works on his new LP, reportedly in picturesque Wyoming, I can’t help but wonder: Are such revelries happening on this majestic mountaintop out west?

According to some recent updates from eagle-eyed Kanye fan accounts, the answer might be yes. And that’s exciting.

Above is a sample of the natural wonders by which West has apparently surrounded himself, along with a quick little snippet of his own head (complete with what looks like pink hair). Photos on fan accounts seem to confirm this, as well as Kim Kardashian’s presence out there too, doing some skiing.

But even more important than West’s hair or Kim’s slope work is who else has seemingly made the trek up to Kanye’s mountaintop creative kingdom (and it does seem to be creative, as per this shot of recording/editing software). In the past week or so, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, Nas, A$ AP Bari, King Louie, and The-Dream have all been reportedly spotted in Wyoming, along with producers Jeff Bhasker, Wheezy, and Pi’erre Bourne.

Of course, just because all these talented musicians and writers happen to be in the same general location as Kanye at the same time he is doesn’t mean they’re recording with him. And even if they are, there’s no guarantee that their contributions will be made into final songs at all, let along songs that make it to a hypothetical eighth West LP.

But it still could mean that. And that’s good news, especially after West’s erratic behavior and eventually canceled Saint Pablo Tour at the end of 2016.

The last we heard from him, he popped back up on Instagram for a day — Valentine’s Day — as a grand romantic gesture for his wife. Maybe the next thing we’ll hear is a song or two — music he didn’t have to go all the way to Hawaii to make.

Kanye West Debuts New adidas Yeezy 700

The adidas Yeezy 500 may be the shoe of choice for Kanye West’s famous family and friends, but when it comes to the man with the laptop he’s all about the adidas Yeezy 700.

Often seen in the V2 styling, Ye was caught out and about wearing a new take on the original.

Graced in what looks like grey but could pass for plum, this semi tonal take finds contrast in the form of yellow accents on the midsole.

Release details are unknown but expect new shoes and a new album sometime in the future based on this new pic below.
