Danny Ainge Wants A Drop Of Terry Rozer’s PUMA ‘Drip’

Taking full advantage of the NBA’s removal of color restrictions on sneakers, Celtics guard Terry Rozier played in the bright “Red Blast” iteration of the PUMA Clyde Court Disrupt in Boston’s 115-112 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.

For Rozier, wearing such bright shoes was just all part of his “drip.” Plus Rozier could care less if you don’t like his kicks because he’s going to keep doing what he wants to do.

“I’m trying to have some drip, come out with some drip — mainly for the young kids,” Rozier told reporters on Monday. “Nike and adidas are everywhere but being different is something that I take pride in. Puma’s the new wave. You can get on the train or get lost. It don’t really matter to me. It don’t help me out or nothing. I’m gonna still come through with the drip regardless”

While he may have just been talking confidently, Rozier actually does seem to be inspiring others to get in on the PUMA wave as Celtics general manager Danny Ainge tweeted at the reserve guard asking if he could get just one drop of his drip. Quite amused by Ainge’s request, Rozier hilariously told the general manager that he will hook him up with some PUMA golf gear.

For comedic purposes, let’s hope Rozier actually honors Ainge’s request because seeing the Celtics general manager in some brightly colored PUMA sneakers would simply be amusing.

Quavo Wants To Write For Rihanna And Shawn Mendes For A Sad But Relatable Reason

Quavo is a man of many talents. The most outspoken member of Migos has been everything from a star quarterback in high school to one of the most sought out feature artists in music. In a new interview with Hot 97, the Atlanta renaissance man discussed his dream collaborators.

“I’d like to do a song for Rihanna,” he said. “I’d like to do something for like a Shawn Mendes, something like that. I just want to show, I got a lot of those songs in my hard drive, but I don’t think if I release ‘em the people could like understand them coming from me.”

While Quavo isn’t ready to release his pop songs as a solo artist, he did share how Beyoncé and Jay-Z ended up recording another song he wrote.

“I actually did ‘Stir Fry’ and ‘Apeshit’ at the same time,” Quavo shared. “Me and Pharrell was recording at Chalice. ‘Apeshit’ was supposed to make Culture II. We did two records. I just picked ‘Stir Fry’ to go on the album. He called me back and was like, ‘Yo, B and Jay got the record.’”

The “L A M B T A L K” artist then described the first time he saw Beyoncé perform ‘Apeshit” live.

“She killin’ it,” he continued. “Nah, she doing it way better than me. She killin’ it. She bringing dance moves and choreo. I went to the show. I watched the whole show, because she do it at then end of the show. The anticipation for ‘Apeshit,’ I felt I like start sweating. Just watching the show and it was so hype and exciting. I was just waiting on ‘Apeshit’ the whole time and then when she played it, I was almost walking out. I came all the way back.”

Would you be down for a Shawn Mendes song written by Quavo?

Adidas Wants to Sign Colin Kaepernick if He Plays in the NFL Next Season

Colin Kaepernick‘s road back to the NFL has been one paved with roadblocks. Following the kneel that shook the league and the public consciousness at its foundation, Kaepernick has with great certainty been blocked from returning to the National Football League. Despite his formidable talent, past successes, and lesser quarterback signings since he took his stand against racial injustice and police brutality at the hands of blacks in 2016, the former San Francisco 49ers QB has been without work in the league he dominated not that long ago.

But where there’s a will there’s a way, and if that will is for Colin to return to the NFL next season, adidas would be first in line to sign him.

“If he signs on a team, we would definitely want to sign him,” said Mark King, adidas North America President/CEO, at Arizona State University’s Global Sport Summit per a report from AZ Central.

King went on to say that he doesn’t want to come off as “taking advantage of this noise or interest that he had generated.” He does however believe in athletes sparking change and leading their own revolutions. “If they’re an activist in a way that brings attention to something that moves the world forward, even if there’s controversy at that moment, we’re really interested in those athletes because I think it represents the world today.”

Kaepernick, though, in spite of this endorsement offer, remains far from signing with an NFL team. Since 2016, offers and interest have been all but absent. That is until just recently, when the Seattle Seahawks wanted to bring Kaepernick in for an interview and subsequent workout. Unfortunately, the meeting was postponed indefinitely when Colin couldn’t commit to discontinuing his pregame protest.

Kaepernick was the first NFL player to kneel during the national anthem in 2016. Since that time, many other players – both black and otherwise – have followed his lead.

A$AP Rocky Wants You To Know He Kisses To Frank Ocean’s Blonde

A$ AP Rocky’s new single “A$ AP Forever” is perplexing for a couple of reasons. Last night (April 4), the Harlem rapper premiered the song along with “Distorted Records” on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Rocky dressed in a crash test suit wakes up in a bedroom where masked individuals observe him.

Thankfully, Rocky doesn’t mind being a test subject. He does get to have two phones, keys, a puppy lamp, weed, and a photo of Martin Luther King Jr in his room. If the scientists are grading the young artist on his rapping skills, he did a marvelous job.

Rocky’s mystifying Tonight Show performance only amplifies the incomprehensibility of “A$ AP Forever.” First, the song samples Moby’s “Porcelain,” which will undoubtedly get the ’90s heads excited. Second, the song is lyrically interesting for what Rocky decides to focus on. “A$ AP Forever” is less about the mob being eternal and more about Rocky adjusting to fame, fearing an early grave, and battling dark thoughts.

At least, Rocky admits he and his significant other, “kiss to Frank Ocean and Blonde,” which is highly relatable. After Rocky’s singular verse and chorus, the song gives way to the “Porcelain”-sampling outro.

It is hard to pinpoint where A$ AP Rocky is going musically. Last week, he released the Blocboy JB-assisted “Bad Company,” which is far closer to the popular trap-focused rap of today than “A$ AP Forever.” Before these two tracks, he’s dropped an alternative rock song and one about Uber drivers. Wherever the At.Long.Last.A$ AP-rapper is going, only he truly knows.

Kendrick Lamar Wants To Play A Misunderstood Villain In Black Panther 2

With Black Panther establishing a groundbreaking hit franchise for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans are already looking ahead to the (practically inevitable) sequel. One such fan is Kendrick Lamar, the film’s sonic maestro, who curated its star-studded, chart-topping soundtrack.

In a new interview with BBC Radio 1 — following his fiery BRITs performance — host Clara Amfo asked Kendrick about the possibility of landing a cameo role in the next Black Panther flick.

“Come on, I got to now!” the rapper responded, adding that he’d love to portray a multi-layered antagonist like Michael B. Jordan’s Erik Killmonger. “I really enjoy Killmonger’s character, just off the simple fact that he was a villain but he came with some real [talk]. … He was a villain but he was loved and misunderstood. So if I could, I’d play a Killmonger for sure.”

Kendrick also spoke about crafting the Black Panther soundtrack, saying, “Not even talking about the music – just the movie and the cast and the director – I think it’s something that not only stands within its moment, but stands within time. We’re talking about timeless films and things that are going to curate after this film. When we got to the music, I just wanted to make sure that I could complement that and be a part of [it] in the best way I could.”

From everything we’ve seen, Kendrick and Black Panther have been a truly excellent match, so here’s hoping he can take that relationship to the next level and land that coveted cameo.

Designer of Atmos Nike Air Max 1 Wants to Change the 2017 Re-release

Sneakerheads rocked the vote for the Air Max #VoteBack last month and decided that the Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Elephant” should return for Air Max Day in 2017.

A decade ago, the Nike Air Max 1 released just in Harlem and Japan at Atmos and was extremely hard to get a pair. So much so that the secondary market demands upwards of $ 900 per pair.

The news of the #VoteBack victory for the shoes was well received by many sneakerheads, but there is a bit of a catch. Koji, the designer at Atmos of the kicks, would like to see them return with some changes.

As I said, it will be released next year. It would be very interesting if I could change some design or materials for the new Air Max 1 “Elephant” 2017 version. I’m not sure it would be approved but I’m curious… (laughs)

Hopefully this will mean something very subtle or Nike will choose not to alter them at all. We saw what happened with the shaggy suede Atmos Nike Air Max 1s that recently released whereby sneakerheads literally shaved off the long-haired suede with clippers.

Stay tuned for updates on this release that is set to arrive in March of 2017.
