Joey Hamilton Gives Tie Dye Update To Travis Scott Nike Air Force 1

words // Nick DePaula:

When the Travis Scott x Nike Air Force 1 Low launched earlier this August, the multiple Swoosh options and open canvas canvas upper immediately fueled customizers to try their hand at adding their own updates atop the iconic model.

Portland-based creative Joey Hamilton recently worked up a custom trio of his own, coming up with green, orange and purple-based tie dye takes on the AF1, each framed by the existing sail hued piping lines of the upper.

Check out the updates in detail below, with mismatched Swooshes also accenting the upper. You can keep up with Joey’s work on his @JoeyHamilton and @Prime.Experiments Instagram pages.

Jaden Smith Has A Very Important BROCKHAMPTON Update For You

Last week, BROCKHAMPTON dropped a lookbook for a fresh line of SS18 merch and formally announced that they signed a record deal with RCA. Coming off of those exciting developments, the boy band has offered a preview of material off their fourth album PUPPY in a short clip titled “LET’S GET MARRIED.”

The video features Jaden Smith, who recently dubbed himself as a new member of the group in a text with BROCKHAMPTON leader Kevin Abstract. (A few months ago, Jaden also flexed his acting talents by co-starring in Harry Hudson’s short film Can Cowboys Cry.) There’s really not much to the clip: Jaden stands alone in a parking garage and unenthusiastically introduces himself before announcing that BROCKHAMPTON is on the RCA roster… but I feel like Jaden Smith announcing personal life updates is an unexplored marketing opportunity I would gladly pay money for.

According to Romil, the snippet of the song that plays during the last 10 seconds of the video was created about 10 minutes before they released it. The track also features Ryan Beatty on vocals. Kevin recently tweeted that the concept for PUPPY is to “bring back the feeling of running around public pools tryna impress someone u thought was hot and Ciara was playing super loud!”

BROCKHAMPTON’s new line of merch will be available to purchase from their webstore today starting at 12pm ET. PUPPY is expected for release this summer and my body is 100% ready for it. In the meantime, revisit BROCKHAMPTON’s insane performance of “BOOGIE” on TRL.

KAWS Provides Update About KAWS x Jordans That Never Released Online

Last night at the Brooklyn Museum, Jordan Brand hosted a special event to celebrate the KAWS x Air Jordan collection that debuted in China on the 28th and officially everywhere else yesterday on the 31st of March.

While no online release happened for the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 yesterday with the select retail partners who had the collection, many assumed that they would release on their release date on KAWS’ site,

As images and video of the event last night surfaced on social media, many fans who had been refreshing the site throughout the day started to wonder if the release was ever going to happen – which it did not.

KAWS, legally known as Brian Donnelly, became aware of the frustration of many and addressed them in an Instagram post that we have embedded below:

Thanks everyone who came out to the #KAWS @jumpman23 release at the @brooklynmuseum today! I’m seeing a lot of comments from people upset about my website not releasing the product today but I never mentioned product would be on my site today. For every release on kawsone I have sent a mailer the day before announcing the release and time it will go live. I wish I caught wind of this sooner so I could prevent wasted time and expectations.

While it wasn’t definitively clear about the release like most sneaker releases by Jordan or other brands, I think that sneakerheads need to consider that this project was a collaboration with a world renowned artist.  An artist that has every right to release his work how he sees fit with his brand and for his fan base which he has an excellent reputation with for many years.

Stay tuned for updates on this release and all others on Nice Kicks and be sure to follow KAWS on Instagram as well.

The Nike Air Max 90 Gets Black/White Animal Print Update

Animal print is nothing new these days when it comes to sneaker design concepts. But that hasn’t stopped brands from doing so in their own unique ways. Nike, always a creative leader, adorns the anniversary stricken Air Max 90 in a monochromatic black and white animal printed edition.

Although the shoe is exclusive to GS kiddos, this Nike Air Max 90 breaks conformity in terms of animal print with black and white spots encapsulated by a stark noir outer in leather. Finished with a clean white mid and corresponding black outer, this two-tone rendition is available now at select Nike accounts.

UPDATE: Alexander Wang Will Reportedly Leave Balenciaga

WWD has reported today that Balenciaga and parent company Kering have decided not to renew creative director Alexander Wang’s contract with the fashion house, with its upcoming show at the next Paris Fashion Week scheduled to be Wang’s last at the helm of the French label. Sources say that a search is currently underway for Wang’s successor. This follows on from news of talks between Wang and Balenciaga that Wang planned to leave the brand to focus on his eponymous label. Wang joined Balenciaga in December 2012, replacing Nicolas Ghesquiere who left to work at Louis Vuitton.

UPDATE: WWD confirms that Alexander Wang will indeed be leaving Balenciaga. The spring 2016 Paris Fashion Week show on October 2 will be his last, with a new creative director set to be announced “in due course.”
