Lil Skies & Francia Raisa Bond Over Their Love For Roses On TRL

The TRL studio was poppin’ when Pennsylvania rapper Lil Skies and Grown-ish star Francia Raisa dropped into the building. During a fun discussion about tattoos, Francia and Skies wound up bonding over roses, which they both have tattooed on different parts of their bodies. Skies identifies with being a dark rose, which is why he incorporated it into the title of his latest mixtape, Life of a Dark Rose. As for Francia, she got a rose inked on her ankle to stick it to a disapproving ex.

Later on, Francia shared her feelings on friendship and how it’s something that is really important to her, as demonstrated by her decision to donate her kidney to her BFF Selena Gomez.

“I think the important thing about friendship that people forget is just because you give doesn’t mean you always have to receive,” she said. “Our friendship is amazing and it’s continuing to be amazing, it hasn’t changed. I think that’s what friendship is about, being there for one another but not expecting anything in return. It’s unconditional love honestly.”

After Lil Skies opened up about his mission to live a healthy life without drugs, he performed “Red Roses” with Landon Cube. The track has been played more than 29.8 million times on Spotify and continues to rack up streams. Watch the whole set in the video below and tune into TRL on weekdays at 4:00pm ET!

Did Migos Take Inspiration From Kim and Kanye’s Wedding For Their Latest Performance?

Offset might not be planning his wedding to Cardi B yet, but it seems like he’s being influenced by other famous nuptials. Last night (January 25), Migos appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and performed their Pharrell-produced song “Stir Fry” in front of a wall full of white roses. The scenery is very similar to the wedding of a producer that features on Culture II.

For those that don’t remember, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were married in front of a wall of white flowers in 2014. The estimated cost of the extravagant flowers is $ 136,000. If Migos spent that much on their Tonight Show performance, it would go down as the baddest and boujeeist flex the show has seen in its 64-year existence.

Culture II at a whopping 24 tracks, is out now and features Drake, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage among other star-studded guest appearances.

25 China Sneakerheads Share Their Love of the Legendary Nike Air Force 1

The Nike Air Force 1 is an undeniably iconic shoe, with an instantly recognizable silhouette that has remained timeless since its inception in 1982. The Air Force 1 is a staple of sneaker culture worldwide, and was the pioneer basketball shoe with Nike Air technology, combining performance, culture, and style.

Nike’s entrance into the Chinese market in the 1980s coincided with the release of the Air Force 1′s, during a time in which the cultural boom was at a high, and basketball and hip-hop culture was taking hold of the youths in China. Continuing its cultural relevance all over the world, China embraced the shoe wholly and it had quickly rooted itself in Chinese culture. The word “Nai Ke” (the Chinese transliteration of Nike) quickly became a household name.

Nike has released a a rework of its iconic shoe for the Chinese market, featuring the original 80′s silhouette in an all white premium leather, with a red suede swoosh and “Nai Ke” embroidered in red on its heel. We brought the new shoe to 25 sneakerheads across China to hear their thoughts on the shoe, as well as their personal connections and memories with the Air Force 1s.

Along with a special Nike “Nai Ke” tank, crew and cap, the Nike Air Force 1 Hi “Nai Ke” will be available at Nike and select Chinese retailers later this month.

How Does Rick Ross And Jay Z’s ‘The Devil Is A Lie’ Compare To Their Past Collabs?

devilisalie

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Rick Ross and Jay Z joined forces once again on “The Devil Is A Lie.” The horn-filled track has the two hip-hop heavyweights trading verses on everything from Wing Stop to the Illuminati. Fans took to Twitter to share their initial reactions to the single from Rozay’s forthcoming Mastermind album. Overall, sentiment was largely positive, especially for Jigga’s verse and the K.E. on the Track beat.

“Jay Z is king.. f–k these other rappers. its King HOV.” said Sk8boyMPHO, while Son Abraham observed, “Two kings on the BIG screen @rickyrozay. #thedevilisalie.” “They out did every song this year #TheDevilIsALie b—h I’m the proof” said Dominic Pugh.

This isn’t the first time that Rozay and Jay have collaborated. They traded fierce verses on 2006′s “Hustlin (Remix)” as well as 2010′s “Free Mason ” and of course, the recent banger “F–kWithMeYouKnowIGotIt.” Like their past partnerships, “The Devil Is A Lie” is full of tough talk and braggadocio but it may not be as club-ready as say, “F–kWithMeYouKnowIGotIt.”

Noahman 21 shared this viewpoint tweeting, “That new Rick Ross x Jay-Z record is hard, not there best collabo but still.” Danny P had other thoughts. “Ahhhhhhh sh– Rick Ross and Jay z song coming out today !!!!!!!!!!!!????????yeah yeah prolly best song of the year.”

Do you think “The Devil Is A Lie” is the hottest hip-hop track of 2013?
