Rae Sremmurd Talk SR3MM On TRL

Fresh off the release of the highly anticipated album SR3MM, Rae Sremmurd dropped into the TRL studio to hang with Sway Calloway. Slim Jxmmi rolled through with a bag full of cash that he proceeded to stack—and spill—everywhere… the only rain up in Times Square was money! As for Swae Lee, he was all business as he spoke about the experience of collaborating with Pharrell on their track “Chanel.”

Naturally, the brothers had some prime advice to share with their fans on how to flex on your ex as well. Trust me, you’ll definitely want to take notes from this segment! See exactly what Rae Sremmurd had to say in the video below. TRL airs on weekdays at 8:00am ET.

If Rae Sremmurd Have It Their Way We’re Getting A Childish Gambino Collab Album

Fans are still waiting on the long-delayed Childish Gambino and Chance the Rapper mixtape, and now Rae Sremmurd are throwing their hat into the collaboration ring. In an interview with Billboard, the rap group described the potential sound of a Sremmurd and Donald Glover project.

“I got a laptop with about 1,000 bangers,” said Swae Lee. “I know Childish Gambino got about 2,000 or 3,000, who knows? We’re gonna come together and make a whole project like, “Redbone” and “Black Beatles.”

This week, Glover announced he is embarking on a North American tour with Rae Sremmurd starting in September. Later in the Billboard interview, Slim Jxmmi reveals how the two brothers connected with the Atlanta rapper.

“Childish Gambino is a cool guy, we linked overseas in a studio,” said Jxmmi. “I DJ’d one of his house parties one time. He’s just a cool guy and we got the same type of vibe, so you can expect good music to come out of this. It’s natural. We don’t gotta act, we can just be ourselves. He’s himself everywhere he goes, and we’re gonna be ourselves everywhere we go — so it’s just gonna be like two different shows, we from two different places.”

At this point it looks like Glover might have to put off retirement to fit in all of these projects.

Can Rae Sremmurd Deliver A Speakerboxxx/The Love Below With Sr3mm?

Rae Sremmurd season is officially upon us. Last night (February 4), the group released “T’d Up,” the second single off their upcoming album, Sr3mm. Over a haunting Metro Boomin- and Swae Lee-co-produced beat, the brothers rap about being you guessed it “T’d up.”

The song falls in line with the maturation of the Rae Sremmurd sound. “T’d Up” is a nocturnal adrenaline rush as Swae Lee sings about being ticked off, while avoiding speed bumps. The new single will be featured in ESPN’s NBA campaign for the upcoming Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics game on February 11.

The group along with Mike Will Made It announced that Sr3mm will be a triple-disc split between a Rae Sremmurd side, a Swae Lee’s solo album Swaecation, and Jxmmi’s project Jxmtroduction. If the group is going to give us dark and hazy bangers like “T’d Up,” it will be interesting to see what they deliver on their solo efforts. Can Swaecation and Jxmtroduction live up to Speakerboxx/The Love Below, the 2003 album from their group-gone-solo forefathers, Outkast?

Swae Lee has already proved his pen game and melodies are undeniable on French Montana’s “Unforgettable” and Beyoncé’s “Formation.” Jxmmi has also been getting his solo game up featuring on songs with Juicy J and Gucci Mane. “T’d Up” proves that Rae Sremmurd is as strong as ever together, but the more intriguing question is what they have in store apart.

Listen to Rae Sremmurd’s “T’d Up” below.
