Cardi B Is The ‘Queen Of Talkin’ Shit’ In Pardison Fontaine’s New Video

We haven’t heard Cardi B on wax since her feature on Lil Yachty’s “Who Want the Smoke” in July, and a lot’s happened to the Bronx MC since then. Most notably, she and husband Offset welcomed a baby girl together in July, but she’s also found herself at the center of a heated, ugly feud with Nicki Minaj.

On Thursday (September 20), Cardi turned the focus back on music with a fresh feature on Pardison Fontaine’s new single, “Backin’ It Up.” Cardi and Pardi are longtime friends and collaborators — he wrote two of her biggest hits, “Bodak Yellow” and “Be Careful” — and Cardi recently shared a video of them partying together years before she blew up. She wrote of their new collab, “I’m really happy to be joining him on his next single BACKIN’ IT UP, which will be dropping later on! I did the song and shot the video while I was 5 and a half months pregnant! I was cranky as fuck but I knew that it was going to be a Hit! Hit! Hit!”

In the newly released video, Pardi and his crew post up in a pizza shop before taking over a dimly lit dance floor. That’s where Cardi joins the fun, rocking a big fur coat and spitting characteristically confident lyrics. “I’m the queen of talkin’ shit and I’m backin’ it up,” she proclaims, later asserting, “Bitches think they fuckin’ with me, must be sick in the head / Why don’t you chill with the beef and get some chicken instead?”

It’s unclear whether “Backin’ It Up” will appear on Cardi’s upcoming project, which she originally targeted for a September 1 release. That date has obviously come and gone, but no matter when her new material arrives, it’s good to see her back.

Charli XCX Is On Her ‘Marilyn Monroe Shit’ In Lil Xan’s ‘Moonlight’ Video

Charli XCX has been getting her girl-power on in 2018, with features on Rita Ora’s “Girls” and Tove Lo’s “Bitches,” and an opening slot on Taylor Swift’s Reputation Tour with Camila Cabello. But for her latest move, the Brit pop machine leaves her posse behind and goes for a midnight ride with Lil Xan in his “Moonlight” video.

Directed by Austin Peters, the nocturnal visual finds Charli on her “Marilyn Monroe shit” and having a drunken late-night adventure with her 21-year-old partner-in-crime. She warned us on her most recent song, “5 in the Morning,” that she’s a badass insomniac, and this vid only proves her point. Charli serves looks in a seedy motel room before linking up with Xan at an abandoned pool and on a joyride down the empty L.A. streets, discovering all the possibilities that pop up while the rest of the world is asleep. All the while, Xan shows off his softer side with the introspective hook, “Happiness is all that matters, this I hope you know.”

“Moonlight” appears on Lil Xan’s star-studded debut album, Total Xanarchy, which arrived in April and boasts additional features from Diplo, YG, Rae Sremmurd, and 2 Chainz. The Cali rapper has a new project, Heartbreak Soldiers, due out this summer.

Beyoncé And Jay-Z Just Made Everyone Go ‘Ape Shit’ With A Surprise Joint Album

This is not a drill: Beyoncé and Jay-Z just dropped an entire joint album without any announcement or hype whatsoever. Because it’s not like music’s most powerful couple needs album promo anyway!

Everything Is Love abruptly hit Tidal on Saturday afternoon (July 16) under the name The Carters. The collaborative album spans nine songs, clocks in at just over 38 minutes, and features both Bey and Jay on every track. One of those cuts, “APESHIT,” already has a full-length music video that’s also available on Tidal. The cinematic vid was shot on location at The Louvre in Paris, and was teased by Beyoncé on Instagram.

Rumors about a Bey and Jay collaborative album have long swirled, and they escalated in March when the couple announced their joint stadium trek, On The Run II. The tour kicked off earlier this month in the U.K. and begins its North American leg on July 25. Looks like fans are going to have a lot of new music to get them hyped before then.

If you don’t have a Tidal account — and somehow aren’t succumbing to the pressure to subscribe — you can listen to 30-second previews of the new songs below. Happy listening!

Tyler, The Creator Lets Frank Ocean Know He’s ‘Running Shit’ On ‘Bring It Back’ Verse

Tyler, the Creator has been in a giving mood. In March, he dropped “OKRA” and gave props to Valee after being influenced by his style. Last night (April 11), Tyler decided to show love to Trouble, Drake, and Mike Will Made It by adding a verse to “Bring It Back.”

Over the unorthodox beat, Tyler’s pitched-up voice raps about his lucrative shoe deal with Converse, flexes about his Casio watch, and the importance of investing in stocks. The Golf Wang businessman also finds time to shout-out two of his R&B friends, mentors, and inspirations. Towards the middle of his verse, he lets Solange and Frank Ocean know an important message — “Shout out Solo that’s big sis / Shout out Frankie that’s big bro / Ya lil’ homie running shit no question.”

Before the release of the song, Tyler took to Twitter to describe how the track came together.

“travis ( taco) played me this song last week and the pocket of the snare and kick drum had me like wow,” Tyler wrote. “then i heard the guy rap, trouble is his name, and i was like wow i love this song. i face timed mike will and was like wow this song, and he sent the instrumental and i was like bet, this will be fun.”

What is the next beat Tyler, the Creator should demolish?
