Post Malone Is ‘Ready To Rock On’ After Private-Plane Emergency

By any metric you choose to use, Post Malone had a good time on Monday night (August 20) at the 2018 VMAs. After he nabbed Song of the Year for “rockstar” (and accepted the award in an extremely humble way), Posty teamed up with actual rock stars Aerosmith for a very loud, very smoky mash-up performance that closed out the night.

Before the night ended, MTV News grabbed a still-sweaty Post backstage for a quick exit interview, and when the show wrapped, he (presumably) went on his way to a well-earned night of celebration and revelry.

But by Tuesday, as Post attempted to fly out of the New York area and head to a gig in England, two of the wheels on his private plane reportedly blew out on takeoff. For a bit there, it looked hazardous: Twitter exploded as the news made its way across the web.

Luckily, the plane eventually landed safely in New Windsor, New York, about 70 miles north of New York City, after being originally diverted to an airport in Massachusetts. Post quickly took to Twitter to 1) confirm his safety, and 2) give a virtual middle finger to the people who weren’t pulling for him during the harrowing episode.

Post is scheduled to hit the Reading Festival in the U.K. on August 24 the same night as Travis Scott, who also had a big night at the VMAs.

As the man himself said in simple, additional statement he made to Billboard after the ordeal, “I’m alive. I’m ready to rock on.”

Kid Cudi’s ‘The Rage’ Gives The Rock A Perfect Soundtrack To Fight Huge Monsters

Kid Cudi, Dwayne Johnson, and Billy Corgan walk into a bar. After a couple of beers and a jolly old time, Johnson asks Scott if he’ll lend his talents to the Rampage soundtrack. Scott smells exactly what The Rock is cooking, then looks at the lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins and says, “Not without my man Billy.” That isn’t how “The Rage” came about, but one can hope.

“The Rage” samples Smashing Pumpkins’ 1995 hit “Bullet with Butterfly Wings.” During the chorus, Corgan’s iconic refrain blares “Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage” as Cudi adds his characteristic hums underneath. To Cudi’s credit, the hook could’ve gone horribly wrong. Instead, the juxtaposition from Cudi rapping about being “born in the rage” to Corgan’s nasally wail compliment each other nicely.

Kid Cudi has been ramping up his appearances throughout 2018. The Cleveland singer performed at NBA All-Star Weekend with Kanye West. The “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1″ duo were are also rumored to be working on Kanye’s new album on a Wyoming mountaintop.

With Cudi so active, fans can only hope that he is also working on a new album. The last full-length project from the elusive star was 2016′s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’. However, the Man on the Moon artist is still getting acknowledged for his overwhelming influence from artists as varied as Timotheé Chalamet and A$ AP Rocky.

Rampage, starring Dwayne Johnson, is in theaters today (April 13).

Kanye West & French Montana Rock Unreleased Yeezys on “Figure it Out” Set

As hoped for, the release of The Life of Pablo and the unveiling of Yeezy Season 3 appear to be only the beginnings of more music and more footwear from Kanye West. While on the set of the “Figure it Out” video, a collaboration from the new French Montana project that also features Nas, Kanye was all smiles in a pair adidas Yeezy Boost 350s from Season 3. These appear to be the same colorway and styling as debuted by Lil Yachty at the MSG show, though this is just one of many new Yeezy Boost 350 styles seen at or around Yeezy Season 3.

While it’s good to see Ye in new kicks, French may have stolen the show as it appears he’s wearing what people are calling the Yeezy Boost 550. While confirmation from Kanye’s camp or adidas is yet to happen, the model worn by French sees a “Moonrock” motif, but a zoomed in look at the upper sees these adding an eyelet and going above the ankle. Aside from that, construction and styling are linear with that of the 350. In addition, Wex re-grammed this same photo from @teamkanyedaily with the hashtag #unreleased though that could apply strictly to the Season 3 350s.

If these are the 550s, is the modified silo an improvement or a let down? Conversely, do you prefer the striped upper of the Season 3 Yeezy Boost 350s to prior releases? Check out zoomed in views of the IG shot spotted at Illroots below and keep it locked to Nice Kicks for more adidas Yeezy release info.

**BONUS** French also took to his snap to show the all-white adidas Yeezy Boost 350s from Season 3. While he says “they’re never coming out” we’re still hoping and thinking otherwise as they’ve already been both previewed and worn by Kanye himself. Check out the vid as captured from @teamkanyedaily below.
