Nike Created Special Edition KD 11 PEs for Kevin Durant’s Return to Seattle

While most align Oklahoma City with the earliest stages of Kevin Durant‘s NBA career, the infancy of his leap to the pros after one year at the University of Texas was spent in Seattle. Before the Supersonics moved to Oklahoma, in 2008, Durant laced up the same glowing hues Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp once did.

Nike pays tribute to Durant’s time in the Emerald City with a budding KD 11 PE. Dubbed the “Seattle Blends” edition, the pair was produced with tonight in mind, as Durant and the Warriors travel to Seattle for a preseason game against the Sacramento Kings.

The shoe was first seen on Seattle Storm forward Breanna Stewart back in June. Durant will lace up the shoe tonight in the city that drafted him. This player exclusive isn’t expected to release at retail.

Eminem’s Nightmarish ‘Fall’ Video Signifies The Return Of Slim Shady

Eminem surprise-released his tenth album, Kamikaze, last week, and the biggest surprise on it may have been the involvement of Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, who sings on the controversial “Fall.” Vernon was surprised himself — on Twitter, he distanced himself from the song, in which Em aims a homophobic slur at Tyler, the Creator. Vernon also vowed, “we are gonna kill this track.” Days later, “Fall” is not only still alive, but it also has a cinematic video, which Eminem dropped on Tuesday (September 4). Needless to say, Vernon isn’t in it.

The video opens with Em driving shotgun with Royce Da 5’9″ as his phone gets bombarded with reviews panning his 2017 album, Revival. Frustrated, he throws his device to the floor before a shadowy monster (possibly a reference to the Venom symbiote) emerges from it and stalks the Detroit MC through empty streets and office buildings. It catches up to him in the end, and Em’s demonic alter-ego seemingly rises, smashing the case of a Revival CD and signifying the return of Slim Shady.

“Fall” isn’t the only Kamikaze track that finds Eminem lashing out at the hip-hop world. Check out the video below for a full breakdown of his targets.

BROCKHAMPTON Return From Brief Hiatus With Emotional ‘Tonya’ Performance

BROCKHAMPTON’s June 20 performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was always going to have a dark cloud hanging over it. It marked not only their first late-night performance, but also their first public appearance since the group parted ways with Ameer Vann amid sexual misconduct allegations.

The group took the opportunity to perform “Tonya” featuring Jazmine Sullivan, serpentwithfeet, and Ryan Beatty. The BROCKHAMPTON members sat on the floor with crossed legs and wore coordinating flannels as a screen behind them played a video of boys playing at the beach. The metaphor of innocence and reminiscing about better times was powerful, albeit not subtle.

One of the more eye-opening moments of the performance came from Kevin Abstract. During his candid verse, the band’s leader potentially alluded to the Ameer controversy, rapping, “I’ve been in my feelings on an island in the dirt / I feel like brothers lie just so my feelings don’t get hurt / I said, I’ll try vacationin’ / I’ll try to run away.” Abstract’s lyrics are similar to a press release issued from the group which stated, “We were lied to, and we’re sorry for not speaking up sooner.”

The performance was also notable because it revealed that the group changed the name of their album from Puppy to The Best Years of Our Lives. It hasn’t been announced when BROCKHAMPTON will release their next album, but it does look like they are returning to the stage, according to Consequence of Sound.
