Lil Xan Gets Vulnerable About Addiction And His Music’s Real Message

Lil Xan is a complicated artist. On the hook to his hit song “Betrayed,” the California artist raps, “Xans don’t make you / Xans gon’ take you / Xans gon’ fake you / And Xans gon’ betray you,” but has also admitted to being on the drug when creating the song. In a new interview, MTV’s Push artist for the month of May opened up about his battle with addiction.

“If you were following me since the beginning, you see my journey,” Xan said. “From when I was struggling with addiction to “Hit My Line” all the way through “Betrayed,” you followed me on the journey to that better place.”

Xan goes on to detail the story of how he became addicted to the medication.

“I got anxiety in April of 2014,” the Total Xanarchy artist continued. “I was hospitalized for two weeks and they didn’t know what was wrong with me, and at the end they gave me a low dosage of Xanax. Before the whole anti-Xanax message in what I do, I was actually pro-Xanax culture.”

Thankfully, Xan ends his interview on a positive note as he discusses the underlying message of his music.

“Performing is the one time I don’t have anxiety, surprisingly right?” Xan concludes. “People are like, ‘How do you perform in front of thousands of people?’ I don’t know if it’s the adrenaline that kicks in or something, but it’s really the only time I’m at peace… I want everybody to know they’re not alone. That’s why I do this.”

Watch Lil Xan perform his Diplo collaboration “Color Blind” below, then watch him break down why it is one of his favorite songs.

Meek Mill Was The Real Winner Of The Super Bowl

Meek Mill said it best, “I used to pray for times like this.” Tonight (February 4), the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl in franchise history and the moment was soundtracked by one of the most inspirational songs in hip-hop history.

In November, Mill was sentenced to two to four years after a judge ruled that he violated his probation. However, his city’s football team kept his name alive in the locker room and on the field. In a statement to Bleacher Report, the incarcerated rapper described how much the Eagles being inspired by his music meant to him.

“It really lifted my spirit to hear the team rally around my songs because that’s why I make music — to inspire others and bring people together,” said Meek. “The Eagles have also motivated me with the way they’ve overcome tough situations and injuries to succeed this year.”

Here are some of the best Meek Mill reactions from celebrities, fans, and sports fanatics.

  1. Dance, Dance We’re Falling Apart To Halftime

We wouldn’t be mad if Meek Mill was having a dance, dance revolution in his cell. The man deserves it.

  2. Kiss The Ring

Please get Jacob the Jeweler on the line ASAP and make this happen.

  3. Free Meek Mill

The “Dreams and Nightmare (Intro)” means so much to the Eagles and the city of Philadelphia that #FreeMeekMill is trending on Twitter.

  4. Prison Break

    Someone call Wentworth Miller.

  5. Future Mills

This gets the award for the most heartfelt message of the night.

  6. Where Is Uzi?

Somewhere a Hot Topic employee is helping Lil Uzi Vert decide his outfit for the upcoming parade. Wonder if he’ll give a shout out to his city’s other famous rapper.

  7. Yo, Adrian!

Custom Sneaker // The Real Acee Debuts “Hawaiian Ocean” Air Jordan 3

As currently constituted were are dead-set within the middle of winter, with temperatures only plummeting as the days go by. However, there seems to be a new sneaker artist on the market that is looking to making things a bit “tropical” in the middle of January as The Real Acee has debuted his custom “Hawaiian Ocean” Air Jordan 3.

Featuring cascading hues of Hawaiian blue throughout the upper, this custom also employs a traditional white midsole along with royal blue hints throughout. It seems as though the aforementioned artist utilized the “Sport Blue” iteration of the Air Jordan 3 as a muse. Furthermore, the accentuation of gold aglets makes this custom rather eye-catching.

Kanye West Says the Black adidas Yeezy Boosts Are Coming “Real Soon”

This morning, Kanye West joined The Breakfast Club to discuss a plethora of topics, including the adidas Yeezy Boost. When asked about the all-black Yeezy Boosts that have been making their rounds via Photoshop, Kanye stated that they were coming “real soon.”

On top of that, he said that the Yeezy Boosts are ready to play basketball in, expressed that he did not want them to cost $ 350 and be limited (“The College Dropout wasn’t a limited release”), stated that Boost is the best cushioning in the biz (hard to argue) and that he is the most influential person in footwear right now (also hard to argue). In addition, he playfully addressed the Uggs comparison and stated once again that he wants to make accessible product like a Ralph Lauren, H&M or Zara. All the Yeezy Boost talk is at the beginning, so peep the interview below.
