Kanye West Tweets Apology To Drake, Clears The Air For Pusha T Beef

When we last checked in on the lingering cold war between Kanye West and Drake, it was via a Chicago radio interview Kanye did last week. “It hits me in a really sensitive place,” he said about the perceived tension between the two, which had been agitated by Kanye’s close collaboration with Pusha T, with whom Drake engaged in a bitter feud earlier this year.

Ultimately, Kanye spoke of the pair’s relationship positively: “Look, it ain’t no beef. Ain’t nobody got beef.” This might be why the artist took it even further, hopping on Twitter early Wednesday morning (September 5) to formally apologize to Drake in a series of short messages.

Kanye produced six albums early this summer, including Pusha T’s Daytona and his own, Ye. Drake pushed his Scorpion album release date back from June 14 to June 29, after Kanye’s rollouts had wrapped. Here, Kanye also referenced his infamous and erratic TMZ incident from May where he called slavery “a choice,” a comment he apologized for in the same radio interview from last week.

Crucially, Kanye admitted that “there should have been no songs with my involvement that had any negative energy towards you,” referencing his work with Pusha T around the time Pusha’s Drake dis track, “The Story of Adidon.” That song revealed the bombshell that Drake has a son, which Drake later confirmed on Scorpion.

Kanye also said that despite his Pusha affiliation, he did not supply his G.O.O.D. Music collaborator with the information about Drake’s son. In 2016, Kanye briefly feuded with Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose on Twitter, eventually bringing their son into the conversation. (“I own your child,” Kanye tweeted before deleting.)

Kanye then punctuated his tweet-storm with a message of hope, making plans to see Drake’s new live show, which kicked off with Migos last month. “I will be coming to your show within the next seven days to give love and be inspired by the art you have created,” he said.

Does this mean we’ll finally get a Drake version of “Lift Yourself” sometime soon? That might be a little overambitious — but in the meantime, we’ll just have to wait and see if Drake accepts Kanye’s apology.

Pusha T Says Drake’s Upcoming adidas Line is Named After His Son

If you have the Internet or a Soundcloud account, then you’re well aware there’s a pretty vicious rap battle going on at the moment. Pusha T and Drake are sparring at a high level and both fighting dirty. The latest blow comes in the form of “The Story Of Adidon” which alludes to Drizzy having a son that’s both secret and neglected. This allegation came as a surprise and caused some confusion with the following lyric linking the child to Drake’s adidas deal:

Adonis is your son
And he deserves more than an Adidas press run

This morning, Push — also under the adidas roster unless a recent change was made — called into The Breakfast Club to discuss both the beef and the lyric in question.

“Who rolls out their child with a sweatsuit?” questioned Pusha. “See the adidas situation is this: the child, allegedly his new line on adidas is called ADIDON which is named after Adonis his son. We couldn’t know about your child until you start selling sweatsuits and sneakers?”

Hear what Push had to say in the call to The Breakfast Club below.

Pusha T Pokes At Drake’s Ghostwriting Allegations On ‘Infrared’

Pusha T has never seen a beef he didn’t want to keep alive. On “Infrared,” the Virginia rapper decided to throw more gasoline on his long-simmering tension with Drake, Lil Wayne, and Birdman.

“It was written like Nas, but it came from Quentin,” Pusha T raps as he makes light of the ghostwriting allegations that have surrounded Drizzy since his beef with Meek Mill. The president of G.O.O.D. Music keeps the pen hot when he aims at Weezy and Baby’s recent issues with each other.

Oh now it’s okay to kill Baby
Niggas looked at me crazy like I really killed a baby
Salute Ross ’cause the message was pure
He see what I see when you see Wayne on tour
Flash without the fire
Another multi-platinum rapper trapped and can’t retire
Niggas get exposed, I see the cracks and I’m the liar?

Pusha T’s animosity toward Cash Money dates all the way back to 2006. Clipse sent subs at Wayne on “Mr. Me Too,” referencing what they saw as jacking in response to a Vibe cover story that saw Wayne in similar Bape clothing. Wayne fired back during a 2006 Complex interview.

“I don’t see no fuckin’ Clipse,” Wayne said. “Come on man. Weezy, man. They had to do a song with us to get hot, B. “What Happened To That Boy?” C’mon B. Don’t do that, dog. This is a fucking legend you’re talking to right here. 14 years, B.”

In the ensuing years, there have been plenty of shots back and forth from Pusha T’s “Exodus 23:1″ and “H.G.T.V.” to Drake’s “Tuscan Leather.” However, 2016′s “Two Birds, One Stone” reheated the beef after Drake doubted Push’s drug dealing credentials. In an interview on Hot 97, Pusha T explained why he responded two years later.

“I feel like the Drake thing, more recently, was about the ‘Two Birds, One Stone’ record. A lot of talk about the record, or whatever the case may be,” Push said. “I guess, just speaking his truth, questioning my validity to the streets and so on and so forth within that verse. It’s fine. That’s what it was. But if we’re gonna question things…it’s my turn to question.”

Guess we will see if Drake takes the bait on Scorpion. Listen to “Infrared” below.

Pusha T Reveals Why Kanye West Calls Him In The Middle Of The Night

Kanye West’s brand of leadership is very Michael Scott-esque. Yeezy seems like a kindhearted and familial boss who means well, but ultimately revels in the unbridled chaos of it all. In an interview with Power 105.1′s Angie Martinez, Pusha T opened up about his new album, DAYTONA, a potential tour with Nas, and updates on the rest of the G.O.O.D. Music roster. However, the most fascinating portion of the conversation arrived when Pusha described the challenges of working with West during the album making process.

“He [Kanye] changed my artwork last night at 1 a.m.,” Push said. “He changed my artwork at 1 a.m. ’cause he wasn’t feeling it.”

According to the G.O.O.D. Music president, the artwork for his album was completed and agreed upon by all parties. However, at the last minute Kanye decided the photos weren’t exactly what the world needed to see.

“[At] 1 a.m. my phone rings, no caller ID,” he continued. “‘Hey, yeah, I think we should change the artwork. I like this other artwork.’ Now this other artwork is 85 grand, right. I said, hey, I don’t want to pay for that and I wasn’t even going to ask you to pay for that. We picked what we picked. It’s here. It’s ready. [He said,] ‘No this is what people need to see to go along with this music. I’mma pay for that.’”

Kanye is reportedly producing four more albums in the coming weeks. Guess Kid Cudi, Teyana Taylor, and Nas are going to be getting a lot of early morning phone calls.

Pusha T x adidas EQT “Black Market” Drops on Black Friday

Virginia native and GOOD Music representative Pusha T has another collaborative shoe with adidas in the works. Following the 2014 release of his EQT Guidance ’93, Pusha opts for Black Friday 2015 for his latest offering.

Tentatively titled the Pusha T x adidas EQT “Black Market,” the shoe is scheduled for a Friday, November 27 release. This represents adidas’ confidence in Pusha T to put numbers on the board on a huge sneaker release day. And considering the success of his first release, we’d say that confidence is very well placed. Stay tuned for more details.
