adidas Yeezy 700 V3 // Preview

While the second iteration of the Yeezy 700 is still yet to release, we’ve already got a glimpse at its follow-up.

Late last night, Kanye West took to Twitter once again to preview the adidas Yeezy 700 V3.

In coloring, the adidas Yeezy 700 V3 is very similar to its predecessor — seen for the first time in a White/Grey code. In composition, it takes the “Tech Dad” vibes to new heights by sporting a smooth, one-piece midsole. The upper itself is of similar orientation, fusing lightweight paneling rather than stacking mixed materials. Translucent tooling and open-hole mesh underlays mirror that of the Yeezy Boost 350 V3.

Also of note on this Twitter debut is that Kanye calls out Mark Miner as having a hand on this design. This is interesting for a few reasons. One, it’s long been known that other designers have had a hand in the Yeezy footwear creation process – Nic Galway most notably – but this is the first time we’ve heard Miner mentioned.

Nike sues designers who left for adidas
Mark Miner, Denis Dekovic & Marc Dolce

As you may recall, Miner left Nike for adidas in 2014 alongside Marc Dolce and Denis Dekovic. While with the Swoosh, Miner was credited for many Nike Free favorites including the Inneva Woven which West wore. Adding intrigue and visibility to the YEEZY Dream Team, West also called out industry vet Steven Smith as having worked on the Yeezy 451 sole.

Why Did Kanye Invite TMZ To His Office To Preview New Music?

Kanye West really does love Donald Trump, and no amount of texts from John Legend is stopping that. On Thursday (April 26), the Chicago rapper — wearing a pro-Trump “Make America Great Again” hat — teased new music for TMZ’s Harvey Levin. Over a minimal beat that sounds unfinished, Kanye spit a brief and provocative a cappella verse.

“Hopped off the Amistad and made ‘I’m a God,’ / It’s always a lituation when I’m involved,” Kanye proudly proclaims. Unfortunately, Yeezy’s rhymes do not feel like a lituation. Kanye’s first bar is likely referring to the Amistad slave rebellion. In 1839, 53 Africans revolted on the Amistad schooner as they tried to sail back to their homeland. The lyric is confusing considering West recently called slavery a trend on Twitter.

Kanye continues his verse by comparing parents to strippers and claiming the anonymous guardians teach white dominance.

See I say what they say when the mic is off
Parents are the strippers
Strip kids of they confidence
Teach white dominance
Question your common sense
See I been washed in tradition that Imma rinse

Over the weekend, Kanye shared he has a solo album and a project with Kid Cudi releasing in June. So this verse might appear on either project.

Kanye’s return to Twitter has been met with controversy. Snoop Dogg and Ice-T aren’t feeling West’s support of Donald Trump. Chance The Rapper and Kim Kardashian have gone out of their way to defend Kanye’s right to speak his feelings. Earlier today (April 26), Kanye leaked a conversation between him and John Legend and accused his former G.O.O.D. Music artist of manipulating his “free thought.”

The album rollout for Kanye’s seventh studio album has been a bizarre and exhausting ride. It is hard to tell where the rapper will go next from here.

Nike Air Huarache City Black/Gum // Preview

How many more forms can the Nike Air Huarache undertake? Several, apparently. The latest and greatest is the Air Huarache City, a union that weds both the Air Huarache and strapping remnants of the Air Raid, respectively. It’s where fashion and function meet, get better acquainted, then dish on color blocking.

Black and Light Gum Brown is the outcome here, adding the shoe to a long list of others that don this trendy palette. The sleek aesthetic is ideal for street styling with multiple wear options. Strapped up or taken down for the undone look, Nike branding marks both the straps and heel while lightweight neoprene and supporting textiles shape the upper.

No release details for this Nike Air Huarache City Black/Gum are currently available. Stay tuned for more.

Nike Air Force Max “Light Carbon” // Preview

Don C released his widely celebrated Jordan Brand shorts last week to a crowd of welcoming ’90s hoops purists and modern fans alike. The Michigan Wolverines design was the most sought after largely thanks to the nostalgia of the Fab Five. Chris Webber and company often times wore the classic “M” logo shorts alongside Charles Barkley’s Nike Air Force Max. Pairs of the retro basketball shoe are set to release soon.

Fans of the elder style can expect this “Light Carbon” edition to release soon. And although they’re not an OG pair even traditional fans of the shoe won’t be mad at this subtle rendering. Hopefully it’s the start of more leaks of the Air Force Max before official releases.
