Pharrell Williams and his brand BBC have cooked up yet another collaborative diffusion label with American designer Mark McNairy. The profound mutual respect for one another will manifest itself over a brand known simply as BBC Black. Aptly chosen in its name, the #allblackeverything formula will embrace a certain degree of technicality over traditional streetwear silhouettes. The line will be available starting this fall but for the time being, check out GQ’s video involving the two personalities as they discuss the line and their own personal relationship.
The Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, CA provides an art studio environment for adult creatives living with mental, physical, and developmental disabilities. It seems fitting then, that Pharrell Williams’ i am OTHER would have done well to support this project, given the channel’s dedication to celebrating and embracing difference between people. In this short clip, Pharrell sheds light on the Creative Growth Art Center, the issue inherent in pubic perception of art, and why Cheryll Dunn’s new webisode series with i am OTHER is so important. Enjoy the clip above and check out Creative Growth’s website for additional information.

Just recently, HTC’s One launch party enjoyed quite the debut with a performance by Pharrell Williams which included the highly lauded Daft Punk collaborative track, “Get Lucky.” Taking place at the House of Vans in Brooklyn, the high tempo track went the way of a certain Jay-Z and Kanye West routine by going on repeat. The single is available now via iTunes.

Robots rejoice! Daft Punk has officially released their new single “Get Lucky” with none other than Pharrell Williams.
After teasing fans at Coachella and during a commercial break of SNL the French electronic pair dropped the new single off of their upcoming album, Random Access Memories, at 12:01 am on Friday via iTunes.
In an interview earlier this month, the Neptunes front man explained how eager he was to work with the robots, telling them at a Madonna party, “If you just want me to play a tambourine, I’ll do it.”
Anchoring out the groovy, Bee-Gee-esque number on vocals, Pharell sounds right at home flexing his falsetto pipes as legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers holds it down on rhythm guitar. The track is a new sound for the duo and, if it’s any indication of the rest of the album, a new musical direction entirely. And Pharrell is all for it.
“Somewhere outside of the ether that we exist in is a multitude of realms of possibility and alternate directions. And I think they just went in those libraries and just dusted off those things” he explained. Deep
Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories will hit stores May 21.
After teasers from a commercial at Coachella and Saturday Night Live, we get treated to the full audio for “Get Lucky” off Daft Punk’s forthcoming album Random Access Memories. Regarded as one of the most anticipated albums in recent time, Pharrell Williams flaunts his trademark falsetto alongside Nile Rogers on guitar over a disco-centric production from the helmeted duo. While the current version may not be the full length to be featured on the LP, it does provide enough groove to quench our palettes for the meantime. Enjoy the 4-minute dancefloor-filler and stay posted for more form Random Access Memories due to drop May 21.
After this weekend’s preview of “Get Lucky,” an irresistibly catchy cut from Daft Punk’s forthcoming Random Access Memories, Pharrell sits down with Vice and The Creators Project to discuss the details of his work on the album. The iconic producer gives a dreamlike recount of approaching the group (who he casually refers to as ‘the Robots’), flying to Paris to exchange recent work, and ultimately, finding the creative synergy that led to the creation of the song. Pharrell states things eloquently in his own unique, poetic way, in turn creating more hype for what will surely be one of the crowning jewels of 2013. Random Access Memories is expected to release in the U.S. on May 21.
Those who tuned in to the latest SNL were given a first real glimpse of “Get Lucky” from Daft Punk’s upcoming album Random Access Memories. Featuring the duo in their brand new Saint Laurent-designed duds alongside Pharrell and Nile Rodgers, the preview gives an all too brief glimpse of what the forthcoming album has to offer. In what seems to be a clip from the actual music video, the duo and company are seen in bold outfits set against a simple black backdrop with Pharrell front and center providing vocals. Check out the clip and stay tuned for more from Daft Punk.
To add to the flourishing buzz on their upcoming Random Access Memories album drop, Daft Punk revealed during their Coachella set that collaborations with the likes of Pharrell Williams, The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, Nile Rodgers, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear and many more is to be expected. The Announcement was made via the upcoming album’s trailer broadcast — an unexpected treat for attending fans and a definite show of the band’s synonymous savvy marketing.
