Michigan Wolverines Get Laced With More Air Jordan PEs

The newly cemented partnership between Jordan Brand and the University of Michigan has been fruitful to say the least. The school’s visibility has increased tenfold, and their on field presence is as good as it used to be in the 90’s.

That will continue where footwear is concerned as today assistance coach Jay Harbaugh reveals more Air Jordan PEs for Michigan players, staff and friends and family.

The haul includes most Air Jordan models 7 through 13, while we also see several others enter the fold. As expected, each highlights the schools Blue/Varsity Maize palette though no team specific logo branding is seen.

Rich Homie Quan Helps Michigan State Celebrate Rose Bowl Win

By Sean Lynch

The Michigan State Spartans went into Pasadena, California, last night and won the 100th Rose Bowl in dramatic fashion. The win over the University of Stanford Cardinal had just about everyone feeling some “Type of Way.” None more than Atlanta’s rising star, Rich Homie Quan.

Quan and the Spartans have quite a unique connection off the field. The team from up north practically adopted Quan’s 2013 hit “Type of Way,” inside of the locker room. Videos of the team celebrating inside of the locker room; dancing and echoing the lyrics, surfaced going viral each time. Following a huge win over their rival University of Michigan, earlier this year, the Spartans found their fight song.

The anthem would be heard loud and clear on their way to a strong finish (13-1) and a ranking of #4 in the nation. The connection between the Atlanta based rapper and college football powerhouse became more evident when head coach, Mark Dantonio, gave Quan one heck of a shoutout during his Big Ten championship postgame interview.

Quan was taken back by the humbling adoption by the MSU football team. Following a New Year’s Eve performance in Charlotte, Quan spoke with Michigan based outlet, MLive. “For me to be on the field with Michigan State at the Rose Bowl, I’ll have the butterflies,” Quan explained during the phone interview. “I didn’t go to college, so this means a lot. I just want to shout out to the whole Michigan State alumni, it’s so special just to be a part of this movement.”

Getting to the Rose Bowl would not be so simple for the ATL rapper. MLive cites a number of personnel between both parties helped make it happen including Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis, Head Coach Mark Dantonio, former Spartans football player andAtlanta recording studio CEO/owner Curtis Daniel III, Michigan State associate athletic director Alan Haller and director of college advancement and performance camp/director Curtis Blackwell all had hands in pulling Quan’s appearance off.

An early flight on Wednesday morning saw him landing in Los Angeles, followed by a drive to Pasadena. In the end, Quan ended up on hand for the game and celebration as the #4 Michigan State Spartans defeated the #5 Stanford Cardinal in the 100th Rose Bowl.
