Lonnie Walker IV Donates 300 adidas Crazy BYWs To Hometown Basketball League

Days before he got drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the No. 18 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Lonnie Walker IV signed with adidas. And now that Walker has officially made the NBA, he’s already giving back to his hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania by donating 300 pairs of the adidas Crazy BYW to the city’s Blacktop Basketball League.

Here’s more on Walker’s donation from Mike Drago of the Reading Eagle:

Brown said the “Crazy BYW” model sneakers will be distributed to players on the eight teams that reach the league’s four championships games, to the middle and high school student interns who help organize and run the league and to youth players who are considered in need.

Sneakers also will be shared with Reading’s KTB youth program and with the high school boys and girls programs.

Just an awesome gesture by Walker and one that will surely make an impact in the lives of the youth in his hometown.

NBA Kicks On Court // Around The League 11.5.15

words // Nick DePaula:

With just five games on the schedule Thursday night, some of the associations’s top point guards were looking to get the best of their matchups.

In Chicago, Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook actually faced off for the first time since December 6th, 2010, which is really incredible to consider. Out west, Damian Lillard hosted Mike Conley Jr. and the Grizzlies, as the Blazers looked to continue to compete on a nightly basis and surprise teams around the league.

Both Westbrook and Lillard each were spotted in special edition “Vet Day” sneakers, with Lillard leading the way in a win by pouring in 35 points on 7/11 shooting from 3. After a slow start, DRose scored 10 straight points in the closing minutes to carry the Bulls over the OKC Thunder.

Around the league, we also spotted Jeremy Lin, Danilo Gallinari and Kenneth Faried in “Vet Day” adidas shoes, while Will Barton and Raymond Felton broke out Under Armour’s “Vet Day” ClutchFit Drive 2s.

Steve Stoute Wins Jay Z’s Fantasy Football League

JAY Z and D'USSE Cognac Host The Official Legends of the Summer After Party - Chicago

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Jay Z had a big year but even he couldn’t reign supreme in his fantasy football league. Complex shares that longtime friend and Translation Marketing owner Steve Stoute took home the top prize in Jigga’s fantasy football league.

Hov’s league apparently also included celebs like NBA star Chris Paul, and the rapper asked ESPN experts like Matthew Berry to help him with his draft. “Congrats to @stevestoute for winning THIS in the GUTS fantasy football league aka Jay-Z’s lg,” Matthew Berry tweeted, along with a photo of a championship ring recently.

He may not have won fantasy football, but Jay takes real-life sports very seriously. In 2013, he launched Roc Nation Sports and signed baseball star Robinson Cano and Kevin Durant.
