Under Armour HOVR Havoc Hits the Hardwood

Looking to lighten the load for high-flying hoopers who put stress on their bodies, the Under Armour HOVR Havoc brings the brand’s trademark HOVR tech to the basketball court.

Releasing in both low and mid form, the responsive cushion debuted in the running category carries over to the hardwood for an energy returning ride set to lace Josh Jackson, Dennis Smith Jr. and more this fall as the NBA season gets underway.

While cushioning is at the core of the HOVR Havoc, fit is also of focus with special attention paid to lockdown, containment and stability. This is realized with the help of a two-layer knit upper and external heel counter for added support.

“We’re excited to bring our proven, tested and refined construction from running to basketball, featuring adaptations to tune the performance for players on court,” remarked Leon Gu, senior basketball and training footwear designer at Under Armour. “HOVR makes every step land softer and every push-off feel more explosive – offering energy return that combats gravity.”

Check out shots of the low-top look below. The Under HOVR Havoc Low ($ 105) and Under ArmourHOVR Havoc Mid ($ 115) are both set to launch globally in-store and online on August 31st.

Cardi B Celebrates Becoming The First Female Rapper With Two No. 1 Hits

Cardi B is back on top!

With her bilingual banger “I Like It” topping this week’s Billboard Hot 100, the mama-to-be just made history as the first female rapper to score multiple No. 1 hits. As you probably remember, Cardi previously topped the chart last summer with her breakout hit “Bodak Yellow,” which made her the first solo female rapper to get a No. 1 since Lauryn Hill in 1998.

Per Billboard, Cardi is now the first artist since Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to score two No. 1s from a debut album. As if dominating the rap game wasn’t enough, she’s also the first female artist in any genre to have more than one No. 1 single on her debut album since Lady Gaga did it with The Fame in 2008.

*Everybody* likes this news, especially Cardi — in a video posted to Instagram on Monday (July 2), she repeatedly screams “number one!” while simultaneously scolding her hubby, Offset, for driving too fast. “I can’t believe it! I’m too excited, my adrenaline is rushing and shit,” she said, adding, “Now we’re just waiting on baby girl!”

In a second video, the Invasion of Privacy rapper admitted that she was once skeptical about whether or not the J Balvin and Bad Bunny-featuring “I Like It” would resonate with fans.

“It’s so crazy because… you know, I always loved this record, but I ain’t gonna front, I slept on it,” she explained. “I slept on this record because two verses on this song — J Balvin and Bad Bunny’s parts — are in Spanish, and I figured not all my fans know Spanish. But y’all made it happen and I’m so happy. I’m so thankful.”

Congrats to Cardi and her loyal Bardi Gang for making history once again!

Diddy Hits Studio With Rick Ross To Mix Mastermind Album

The release date for Rick Ross’ Mastermind album was pushed to 2014, giving Diddy time to work his magic on the project (which is one of MTV News’ Most Anticipated Hip-Hop Albums of 2014). Rozay revealed that the music mogul will actually be mixing his LP.

He shared the news on Twitter during a studio session early Friday morning (January 10).

Ross and Diddy have been close friends for some time, with the Bad Boy CEO even appearing on the Miami rapper’s Rich Forever mixtape, and now they’re furthering their working relationship.

Rozay recently dropped the Jay Z-featuring single “The Devil is A Lie,” and he probably has a few additional surprises in store.
