Air Jordan XXX3 Debuts FastFit Technology for Laceless Liftoff

Informed by the utility of space suits and the same speed tooling as the Nike Zoom VaporFly 4%, the Air Jordan XXX3 was officially unveiled last night in downtown Los Angeles.

While NASA know-how and race day propulsion both clear the XXX3 for takeoff, the shoe’s calling card is undoubtedly FastFit.

Debuting the latest innovation from Nike HQ, FastFit makes the Air Jordan XXX3 literally laceless for perhaps the most visually unique and performance shaping signature from the line since the shrouded stance of the Air Jordan XX8 and its FlightPlate debut.

FastFit allows wearers to tighten their shoe with the pull of the forefoot strap, creating a full 360-lockdown with no need for double knots. Just the same, when hitting the bench for a break or leaving the gym, the lockdown is released by pulling the side loops.

Look for the Air Jordan XXX3 to debut online at Jordan and at select accounts on October 18th. Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for more on the model, its upcoming colorways and FastFit technology.

Kanye West Debuts YEEZY Basketball Shoe

After years of samples and speculation, it appears the YEEZY Basketball Shoe is officially here.

Debuted by none other than Kanye West himself, the man of many projects recently joined Instagram and just uploaded a pic of him wearing the new hardwood model.

Upon closer look, the shoe sees the same styling as the second model thought to be that of the YEEZY Basketball line. A weave upper is perhaps most compelling or apparent at first look with 3M hits on the heel and tongue also adding to the intrigue. Capping off all the wildness is a semi-translucent sole which extends onto the upper for a nice visual overlay.

YEEZY Basketball is said to debut in the NBA this season. Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for updates.

Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% Flyknit Debuts This Fall

During the Breaking2 campaign, Nike engineered some of its best running shoes for its world-class runners as they strived to run through human limitations of running 26.2 miles under two hours. The Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite was created in light of this Goliath-sized task.

Although the runners failed to run a marathon under two hours, a new shoe emerged from this running renaissance as the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% released. Featuring the ZoomX foam that was popularized by the Vaporfly Elite (and now found in the Zoom Pegasus 35 Turbo) and a carbon fiber plate, this upcoming Vaporfly 4% comes in a more breathable upper as Nike graces the pair with Flyknit.

Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% Flyknit

You can get your hands on the all-new Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% Flyknit on its North American release on October, 4 retailing at $ 250 USD.  You can read more about its other releases (including Europe which gives Nike Run Club members early access to the shoe by completing a designated challenge) and other details about the shoe here.

Take a look at the upcoming pair below, and let us know your thoughts on social.

Nigel Sylvester Debuts Upcoming Air Jordan 1 Collaboration

BMX pro Nigel Sylvester announced earlier this year that he had an Air Jordan 1 collaboration in the works. Sylvester later spoke in greater detail about the upcoming release while introducing the latest installment to his budding “GO” campaign in New York City. Today he debuts the collaborative sneaker for the very first time.

On its face, the design is one of the more inspired that we’ve seen from the Air Jordan 1 in recent times. Nigel, who almost exclusively rides in the famed 1985 design, is intimately aware with how the shoe wears after extreme usage. That said, his design takes on a weathered aesthetic seen through a Sail colored upper to mimic yet circumvent the aging process. Coupled with a black nylon tongue, a miniature Swoosh stamps the lateral toe while strategically placed scuff marks round the front foot and heel.

Nigel’s adoration for the Air Jordan 1 has long been felt in still images and many of his viral videos. From the “Shadows” to the “Royals” and everything in between, Sylvester has biked in the lot of them. There’s a matrimony between Sylvester and the Air Jordan 1 that dates back years. Later this month, when the shoe is expected to release on August 22, that union will join the Lance Mountain x Air Jordan 1 in rare air.

Expect more details on the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 in the weeks to come.

Kim Jones Debuts Newly Designed Air Max Collaboration

Newly crowned Dior Menswear Artistic Director, Kim Jones, hasn’t yet shown his debut collection in his new role. Many are still reeling from one of his final acts during his post at Louis Vuitton, a collaboration with Supreme that stands as one of the most influential in recent memory.

Jones, though, whether with Louis Vuitton or now with Doir, won’t stop working with Nike. Proven this week when the talented designer debuted a budding Air Max sneaker and matching apparel collection, Jones’s modern creation highlights fused mesh and leather fabrication matched alongside full-length Visible Air with “Kim Jones” written across the translucent midsole tube. An enlarged Swoosh blankets the sleek monotone grey upper while a top strap that mimics the Nike Vandal — Jones’ favorite sneaker growing up — punctuates the look.

This Kim Jones x Nike Air Max sneaker hasn’t been vindicated with specific release details. We do know that Jones’ Nike collaboration is available to some degree at Dover Street Market London. Stay tuned for more details.

Encapsulated Air might be getting its just due — or perhaps more — in the near future with the return of the Nike Air Skylon 2.

Nike LeBron Soldier 12 Debuts for Playoffs

This spring you won’t find LeBron James doing it for the ‘gram. Nope, everything he’s doing is for the ‘ship. The Nike LeBron Soldier 12 sees the King’s second signature series continuing its postseason positioning while playing to #23’s social media absence.

Debuting in the triple-black “Dark 23” colorway, it is uncertain when LeBron will lace them given the excitement surrounding his PE program — aka #LeBronWatch — that while remiss at retail is still seeing dope do-ups like his recent BB4 homage.

Still, the Soldier series has never been all about ‘Bron as the next generation has always worn and informed the line. Using feedback from amateur and professional players alike, the postseason driven Soldier 12 is all about stripped-down toughness.

“The Soldier was always meant to be stripped down in the best possible way,” Jason Petrie told Nike SNKRS. “Even early on, LeBron’s insight was that the playoffs and the regular season are different. The Soldier has always been about toughness and connecting to the playoffs, in particular.”

The result is a focused piece of footwear built around aspects of the LeBron 15 like a circular knit upper and protective heel and toe caps, bolstered by a wider range of Velcro for more malleable lockdown and uniquely shaped Zoom Air units for lightweight bounce and court feel.

Look for the Nike LeBron Soldier 12 “Dark 23” to drop on April 25 for $ 140. Peep detailed shots of the shoe and design process below.
