Here’s Why Young Thug Says He Won’t Release New Music In 2018

Young Thug’s always been an unconventional, unpredictable guy who commands our attention. Earlier this week, for instance, he jumped on Twitter late at night to announce that he’s changing his name to SEX. It remains to be seen whether he actually follows through with that or not, but now, Thug’s made another announcement that no one ever expected.

As The Fader points out, the Atlanta rapper revealed in a recent Hypebeast interview that he doesn’t plan to release new music in 2018. The reason is surprisingly poignant: He’s doing it out of respect for his deaf brother.

“I’ve got a deaf brother,” Thug says in the clip. “I’ve got a brother who can’t hear or talk, so I want to act deaf for a year. So I ain’t going to put out no music this year.”

Thug also gave an update on his long-teased Hi-Tunes album — which he’s said is “on the way” as far back as 2015 — saying, “In 2019, I’m going to put out probably Hi-Tunes.”

It’s worth nothing that Young Thug has already had a pretty active 2018 so far — he’s hopped on tracks with A-Trak and Shad Da God — and there may be other pre-recorded guest verses on the way. In any case, vowing to intentionally slow down his hot streak is a powerful thing, especially when you consider that he’s doing it for an amazing reason.

Agenda Report // G-Star RAW Previews Fall 2018 Footwear Collection

Coming off their vastly impactful collaborative offering with multi-disciplinary, Pharrell Williams, which champions sustainability, individualism and cultural diversity, G-Star RAW looks ahead to fall with a new footwear offering that both teeters the line of past design expression and contemporary aesthetics guided by modernism and function.

Keeping with traditional cool weather silhouettes, a lightweight yet high-arching boot emerges as the most progressive model we sampled. An inner bootie serves as a seamless measure to get into the boot alongside ensuring increased comfort thanks to the neoprene fabrication. The shoe’s rich nubuck is finished in an alluring shade of navy, which is slightly offset by a smooth leather eyestay and corresponding heel tab. Construction of the boot’s midsole uniquely appears compartmentalized, lined around the toe and front foot while the quarter panel and heel is visibly more direct.

In a more foundational sneaker approach, G-Star RAW also revealed a budding low-cut style with great shaping and midsole curvature. Seen here in white – although there are black and grey options, too – paneled detailing adds depth to the upper while a padded ankle collar promotes comfort at the foot opening. Smartly, the lip of the outsole curves upwards at the heel, giving the silhouette greater distinction and profile.

Each of these styles – and several others of a similar volition – are set to release this August in line with the brand’s fall 2018 collection. Take a detailed look below and stay tuned for more from G-Star RAW and Nice Kicks at Agenda Long Beach.

Rumors have been swirling around the industry for a while about Jerry Lorenzo working with Nike since this past summer, but Jerry himself confirmed the partnership for 2018 tonight by a comment left on Instagram.

Jerry Lorenzo Nike 2018

Replying to @mofuckingmoney‘s question as to whether there would be another restock of the Fear of God x Vans projects, Jerry Lorenzo responded definitely that there would be no more Vans releases and just Nike projects for 2018.

While there have been some conclusions drawn that this is a Fear of God x Nike partnership for the new year, it would be wise to wait for an official announcement from either Nike or Jerry befor jumping to that conclusion. Jerry Lorenzo is an esteemed designer who has worked on countless projects with numerous labels outside of Fear Of God and carries a name that has design clout that ranks at the very top.

adidas Kamanda Set to Debut in 2018

Although 2017 will go down as one of the best years in modern history for adidas, the German-based brand plans to offer even more in the year to come. The Prophere is phase one, as it’s now available and releasing in larger numbers later this month and in 2018.

We can also look forward to the extremely enticing adidas Kamanda. Breathable tongue construction extends wider than the lace opening while a white heel counter and Metallic Gold branding works the quarter panel.

Release details for the adidas Kamanda are not currently available but the shoe is expected to launch in 2018. Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for more.
