SLVDR 2015 Spring/Summer Loobook

California-based label SLVDR continues to blend streetwear with utilitarian designs and we are treated with the lookbook to the brand’s 2015 spring/summer collection. Using inspiration from Rob Myer’s earliest childhood memories of discovering that clothes were more than something to cover you body, the line looks to personify expression, creativity and help define personality.

Building upon this, we are presented with an array of warm colors and pastel prints across jackets, shirts and leg wear. Highlights include the pastel-blue fox pieces with all-over fox motifs and color blocking patterns on shirts and shorts.

Finally, to bring a more personal touch to these offerings, Myer was quoted as saying, “This line takes into consideration design elements from that influential time and mix with a current aestethic to create a collection that embraces the SLVDR past, and future.” Look for the collection to drop at SLVDR and select stockists as we get closer to season.

Valentino 2015 Spring/Summer Collection

Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and PierPaolo Piccioli teamed up again to present a striking collection for 2015 spring/summer. Here we see a preview of the comprehensive range which blends classic menswear styling with beatnik riffs. Keeping to subdue colors of bronze, navy and grey, large polos and trenchcoats nod to ’50s styles seen in past subcultures such as the Teddy Boys. Floral, camouflage, and abstract prints take on shirts, jackets and suits elsewhere, and paired with sandals for a laid-back look. Check out the collection here and look for it to hit retailers next year.

Moncler Gamme Bleu 2015 Spring/Summer Collection

Greeted by a coliseum-like structure and a four-sided ring surrounded by rows of bleachers, visitors to Moncler Gamme Bleu’s 2015 spring/summer showing may have felt more like spectators of a patriotic boxing match, akin to Apollo Creed, rather than a collection of fashion pundits in Milan. With his signature tricolored stripe wrapping around the aforementioned ring, Creative Director Thom Browne had no reason other than it being a sport for choosing boxing as his inspiration. Traditional fighter robes, high-wasted trunks and knee-high lace boots were all meticulously blended with tartans, seersuckers, oxfords, summer tweeds and more – all hallmarks of the Browne aesthetic. Certainly one of the more whimsical collections since its inception, stay tuned for additional looks at the Moncler Gamme Bleu 2015 spring/summer line as we near its impending launch.

MSGM 2015 Spring/Summer Collection

MSGM looks to Italian artist Alighiero Fabrizio Boetti’s conceptual art as inspiration for its 2015 springs/summer collection. The use of color block pays homage to the Italian artist’s visual renditions, alongside the influence from subcultures of the past — mixing sensibilities of ’50s Teddy Boys with the loud prints seen on hippies in the late ’60s. Oversized silhouettes such as anoraks, large coats and crewnecks are paired with baggy shorts, while tropical patterns celebrate the summer season and complemented further by a unique eyewear range. Enjoy a preview to MSGM’s 2015 spring/summer range above and let us know your thoughts below.
