Get To Know Andy Mineo

Andy Mineo knows exactly who he is. As an MC, the Syracuse, New York, native is as skilled as any of today’s crop of rap newcomers — and he proved it in December on the “RapFix Live” all-cypher show, where he rhymed alongside 360, Bizzy Crook and Emilio Rojas. There is a difference between Mineo and most of his rap contemporaries, though; if you listen closely, his bars are inspired chiefly by his Christian faith. Ask his fans, and you’ll find that’s all a part of his appeal. Hear him explain a dream collab in the video above and read the full story at MTV News.

The fourth release commemorating Black History Month (though the US Congress now calls it ‘African American History Month‘), Nike gives us a look at what’s in store for the 2014 range; designed with inspiration from Nike athletes moved by the legacy of “Pan-African achievement”. Looking to the kind of “sports royalty” that Nike has in their sponsorship stable, the collection features ambassadors like: LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Maya Moore and Allyson Felix, to name a few. The collection is more expansive than what we’ve featured here – including apparel and equipment for both men and women – but for our purposes we’re focusing on the LeBron 11, KD VI, Melo M10, Lunar Force 1, Dunk Low SB, and AJ1 Mid. Available at select Nike retail locations starting February 1st, 100% of the proceeds will be going to related charities. For more information about the full Black History Month collection head over to Nike.

Sophia Chang Speaks About the Agenda Babe Show

Earlier this month, Agenda kicked off the first of a series of US-wide tradeshows in Long Beach, catering towards the latest and greatest in streetwear. Among the secondary activites aside from the obvious in fashion-based exploits were various art-based initiatives. With platforms such as Agenda Emerge offering great insights into developing and succeeding the industry, illustrator Sophia Chang contributed her own efforts into curating the Agenda Babe Show. Based around art from the creative minds of females globally, she speaks about the project and what it represents.

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

The “James Dean of hip-hop” joins forces with Maybach Music Group. G-Eazy is enlisting Rockie Fresh as part of his upcoming “These Things Happen Tour,” RapFix has exclusively learned. The MMG newcomer has been named as the tour’s opening act along with Toronto rapper Tory Lanez and California native Kyle.

The Buzz On: G-Eazy

As a musical accompaniment to this tour announcement, G-Eazy recently unleashed a remix to “Been On” featuring Rockie and Tory Lanez.

The 40-date “These Things Happen Tour” kicks off February 21 in Dallas and continues with stops in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Toronto.

G-Eazy is prepping to release a new album, the follow-up to 2012′s Must Be Nice, called These Things Happen, this spring. The effort comes on the heels of a string of big wins for the Oakland rapper including opening up for Drake’s “Light Dreams and Nightmares” tour in 2010 and jumping on Lil Wayne’s “America’s Most Wanted Tour” in 2013.

Eazy spoke to Respect last year about his artistic goal of always bettering himself. “That’s the motto that I want to take after: never getting too comfortable in one spot. You want to keep pushing things forward and wanting to keep trying new things and keep getting better.”

TT 1 News: Adidas Re releases The Top Ten Sneaker

Originally introduced in 1979, the Top Ten was designed for the top 10 most elite professional basketball players of the time. With a clean, all leather high-top design and padded collar coupled with a hundred dollar price tag, the Top Ten stepped off court where it quickly became a status symbol on the street.

To celebrate the re-launch of the Top Ten, adidas Originals presents a video series to tell the story of this classic silhouette through the eyes of some well-known Top Ten fans.

Brooklyn’s finest DJ Clark Kent introduces the video series and provides his view on how the Top Ten became a status symbol.

Launching January 24, 2014, the adidas Top Ten will be available at Adidas Online and adidas Originals retail stores for $ 90 USD.
