Kylie Jenner Joins adidas

Kylie Jenner is officially Team adidas. The beauty mogul/modern model let the world know today that she’s on board as an ambassador of The Three Stripes by posting a video with the announcement on her IG story, wearing the recently released adidas Falcon.

Some would say that Kylie to adidas was many months or more so years in the making. When the youngest Jenner first signed a partnership with PUMA in 2016, her brother-in-law Kanye West was vocally critical of the assumed but then unannounced move as Team Yeezy was intended to house the Kardashian/West/Jenner family as a whole.

Kanye West Tweet

The Kylie x PUMA partnership in 2016 lasted the course of the year with Jenner appearing as a model in marketing efforts for the brand while also wearing select shoes and slides in public and on IG.

By 2017, Kylie would be seen wearing Yeezys on the regular — among other brands — all but confirming an end to the PUMA partnership and a focus on the family’s footwear line. In May of 2017, big sister Kendall would make it official with adidas as an ambassador while Kylie would remain a wearer of Yeezy/Calabasas kicks but a free agent where a deal was concerned.

In 2018, Kylie proved the first person to don what looks to be the last of three Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4 collaborations. While her significant other is famously a Nike Boy with JB ties, Jenner juicing the Stripes for the duration of her deal sees the Forbes cover star continuing to make moves.

While details regarding the 2018 Kylie Jenner x adidas partnership have not been disclosed by the star or the Stripes, one would imagine Jenner would serve as the face and feet of trending ’90s nostalgia models like the Falcon and Yung-1 while her sister Kendall continues to front classic styles such as the Stan Smith and the Forum. Nike Air Max Uptempo 97 “Triple Black” Drops This Month

Tracing back 21 years to its initial launch, Nike’s Air Max Uptempo 97 is a classic hoops model built to last. With a purposeful design and tech that holds up in modern-day, the elder hoops style is now being updated with contemporary coloring.

This Nike LeBron 16 x Harlem’s Fashion Row Collab Could Be Releasing In September

words // Nick DePaula:

With the launch of his newest signature shoe just around the corner, it appears we can expect to see LeBron James collaborating with yet another design group in advance of September’s annual New York Fashion Week.

While last year’s debut of the LeBron 15 was seen on the runway of Kith’s fall show, this year, James is expected to be partnering with Harlem’s Fashion Row. Founded by Brandice Daniel over a decade ago, the Fashion Row has long aimed to uplift multicultural designers looking for a platform through events, podcasts and features.

After James’ 16th signature shoe was spotted last week in a more subtle black and red look, new images have emerged of a more fashion forward version in tandem with Harlem’s Fashion Row, featuring an updated lacing system through the molded heel overlay, along with a statement level leather collar strap and buckle.

HFR’s Style and Fashion awards show will be taking place on September 4th, with James serving as both a co-presenter and honoree. The show’s theme is being dubbed “The Strongest,” certainly fitting for LeBron.

“The dress code for guests and attendees is black tie and Nikes,” writes WWD.

While no release date or price has been set just yet, it’s likely that the (removable) strap-equipped LeBron 16 could be spotted at the upcoming event and throughout NYFW. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as more details emerge.

Jeremy Sallee Has Been Sketching Some Awesome Puma & Adidas Concepts

words // Nick DePaula:

Over time, Instagram has proven to not only be a platform where photographers can showcase their work to a widespread global audience, but it’s also become a growing home for artists and designers to highlight their latest concepts and ideas.

After suffering an unfortunate Achilles tear, footwear designer Jeremy Sallee has been posted up and posting a spree of sketches on his page, narrowing in primarily on new concepts for Puma Hoops and Adidas Basketball. With Puma’s grand return to the NBA and basketball space for the first time in two decades, his designs explore potential twists on bridging the brand’s past through a modernized lens.

The Adidas concepts are simply awesome, delving into some new branding options for The Three Stripes. Sallee formerly worked at Reebok, where he cooked up the recent Fusion DMX and Alpha standout models during his tenure with the vector. He’s currently the Design Director for Ralph Lauren footwear, with projects soon on the horizon.

You can keep up with Jeremy’s work and his playfully dubbed #AchillesSeries on his @jermsal10 Instagram account — best of luck with the rehab and recovery!

Drake’s Air Jordan 4 “Splatter” Sample Surfaces in Detail

After firmly pledging his allegiance to Jordan Brand on fellow Nike Boy Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” Drake‘s long discussed Air Jordan 4 “Splatter” sample has just resurfaced. But is the timing a coincidence?

Air Jordan 4 "Splatter" Sample
Air Jordan 4 “Splatter” Sample

Given the success of Scott’s official Air Jordan 4 collaboration and its many friends and family offshoots, Jordan Brand collaborators seem to be leaning heavily into the 1989 produced shoe. Drake’s “Splatter” PE features remnants of the “Bred” 4s although stylized with unique odes to OVO’s head honcho.

With the brands owl logo found inside the heel tab, a paint splatter pattern rounds the heel and marks the reinforcements above the midsole. Visible stitching is still seen around the Jumpman at the shoes centermost point while white “Nike Air” branding at the rear matches the shoes midsection.

At present time, there are no release details surrounding Drake’s Air Jordan 4 “Splatter” sample. Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for more details. In the meantime, check out Drizzy’s tour footwear.

Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% Flyknit Debuts This Fall

During the Breaking2 campaign, Nike engineered some of its best running shoes for its world-class runners as they strived to run through human limitations of running 26.2 miles under two hours. The Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite was created in light of this Goliath-sized task.

Although the runners failed to run a marathon under two hours, a new shoe emerged from this running renaissance as the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% released. Featuring the ZoomX foam that was popularized by the Vaporfly Elite (and now found in the Zoom Pegasus 35 Turbo) and a carbon fiber plate, this upcoming Vaporfly 4% comes in a more breathable upper as Nike graces the pair with Flyknit.

adidas Yeezy 700 V3 // Preview

While the second iteration of the Yeezy 700 is still yet to release, we’ve already got a glimpse at its follow-up.

Late last night, Kanye West took to Twitter once again to preview the adidas Yeezy 700 V3.

In coloring, the adidas Yeezy 700 V3 is very similar to its predecessor — seen for the first time in a White/Grey code. In composition, it takes the “Tech Dad” vibes to new heights by sporting a smooth, one-piece midsole. The upper itself is of similar orientation, fusing lightweight paneling rather than stacking mixed materials. Translucent tooling and open-hole mesh underlays mirror that of the Yeezy Boost 350 V3.

Also of note on this Twitter debut is that Kanye calls out Mark Miner as having a hand on this design. This is interesting for a few reasons. One, it’s long been known that other designers have had a hand in the Yeezy footwear creation process – Nic Galway most notably – but this is the first time we’ve heard Miner mentioned.

Nike sues designers who left for adidas
Mark Miner, Denis Dekovic & Marc Dolce

As you may recall, Miner left Nike for adidas in 2014 alongside Marc Dolce and Denis Dekovic. While with the Swoosh, Miner was credited for many Nike Free favorites including the Inneva Woven which West wore. Adding intrigue and visibility to the YEEZY Dream Team, West also called out industry vet Steven Smith as having worked on the Yeezy 451 sole.

Preview the Yeezy 700 V3 below and keep it locked to Nice Kicks for release details.
