Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 1 “25 Straight” Odes LeBron James’ Memorable 2007 ECF Moment

Nowadays there’s a lot of chatter surrounding LeBron James as the best basketball player of all time. An argument that only ruffles feathers when Michael Jordan enters the conversation. James is an unrivaled all-time great with the championships, MVPs and stats to reinforce said claim. But back in the late 2000s he was simply great, not yet an all-time great.

It would be the moments to come that would lift James into the upper echelon of hoops hierarchy. And while countless plays and games come to mind, his performance in Game 5 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals stand out among the most remarkable.

In a close game against a veteran Detroit Pistons team, James put the Cavs on his back and rattled off 25 straight points to lift his team to a thrilling 109-107 victory. LeBron finished the game just shy of a 50-piece with 48 points, shooting 11 for 13 on those final 25 points.

Nike’s “Championship Think 16” Pack honors this historic moment in Bron history with not only a special edition “25 Straight” release, but the very first retro of his Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 1. The colorway closely replicates the pair James wore on that faithful day in 2007 with a few special notations to commemorate the release.

The Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 1 “25 Straight” is set to drop on May 31 which, fittingly, marks the anniversary of that incredible Game 5.

Nike Air Zoom Generation Serves as Inspiration for the Latest #LeBronWatch PE

LeBron James was unstoppable last night in the Cavs win against the Washington Wizards. He was mad LeBron, and mad LeBron really can’t be tamed. That angry may have had something to do with his latest #LeBronWatch debut which takes inspiration from his debut signature shoe.

The Nike Air Zoom Generation, first released back in 2003 and re-released as a retro for the first time last year, serves as a muse for the current #LeBronWatch model. It takes from the styles OG colorway in White/Black-Red seen through BattleKnit construction and unique symbolism. This pair, in its specificity, is exclusive to the King and not a retail release.

Give the Nike LeBron 15 “AZG” a closer look below and be sure to plan for the Foot Locker House of Hoops #LeBronWatch releases tomorrow April 7.

Why Smaller Sneaker Events Are So Important

words + photos by @MrsTeriyaki

Everything in life started off small at one point, and that’s no different with sneaker events. Imagine Sneaker Con, Solefest or Crepe City and they all at some point would have been held in a small venue somewhere with a fraction of the attendants and a fraction of the extra entertainment.

From experience, larger events struggle to bring that real community feel and tend to market themselves towards a younger more fashion-conscience audience, who tend to remain on the outskirts of the sneaker community. There is a huge mass of people, and normally a strong presence of sponsored brands. Sure, the choice of the kicks for sale may be vast but the diversity, not necessarily.

Just like different countries have different styles, different cities do too. And that is something you can really experience when venturing out of the normal, more ‘commercial’ sneaker events and looking more locally.

This weekend I attended SneakerBox in Bristol, a more local event just over an hour from home. I have attended smaller events before, but this was my first time here. Last year it was held in a pub (public house) and has grown since last year into a small music venue which is really great to see the demand for it to grow.

The unique aspect of sneaker conventions of this caliber is the personality that local attendants bring to it. There is a real flavor of the city that comes through the doors and is reciprocated by what’s worn on foot. I found the taste and variation so much wider compared to the big conventions. With the strong community vibe comes enjoyable conversations and even new friendships, which is the part I love the most about the community.

It’s important we as sneakerheads attend and show love to the smaller projects taking shape in the culture because they are doing a great job at bringing opportunities to people who maybe can’t make the bigger, more national conventions. And one day they won’t be so small.

Do you have any local sneaker events near you?

If you’re wanting to get more involved in the sneaker community, it’s a great place to start and be a part of. I think it’s important as members of a community we support one another’s growing pillars, especially locally.

Peace.

Reebok Releases All-New DMX Fusion

Reebok, in its own unique way, revolutionized footwear more than 20 years ago with the release of its DMX Run 10. Originally launched back in 1997, the avant-garde design was a technical whiz, utilizing Dynamic Motion Control innovation masterfully flowing through the shoe’s sole unit. Now, more than two decades later, the DMX Run 10 is back. Although not in the ahead-of-its-time frame that championed late 90’s style, but a modern-day refinement fittingly dubbed the Reebok DMX Fusion.

Cleverly produced in contemporary Ultraknit fabrication, the low-profile silhouette bears a sleek aesthetic with an adaptive lacing system that makes for an intuitive wear. Of course, retooled DMX technology is present within this new model, bridging the gap between the elder DMX Run 10 and the re-imagining that is the DMX Fusion.

Black and white colorways help debut the adoring style, both of which highlight light pops of Neon Cherry at the eyelets and heel loop for a subtle yet relevant contrast. Fans of the DMX Fusion NR can grab a pair now for $ 130 at Reebok.com.

Upcoming Nike Kyrie 4 is Inspired by His Memorable Finals Performance

The Cleveland Cavaliers 2016 NBA Finals comeback is one of legend. No team has ever emerged victorious in a Finals facing a 3-1 deficit. The Cavs did due in large part of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Irving, now a Celtic, had a performance in that Finals that made him the superstar he is today.

His 41-point outburst in Game 5 of the series helped the Cavs get over the hump, giving them the confidence and poise they needed to close out the Golden State Warriors. This upcoming Nike Kyrie 4 honors that towering performance in black and crimson shades with what appears to be bricks at the heel, symbolizing Irving’s ability to put missed shots behind him and thrive beyond the shots that didn’t fall.

Take a closer look at the Nike Kyrie 4 “41 for the Ages” on April 14.
