Mac Miller Drinks And Morphs Into Pink Floyd

When we first met Mac Miller as a teen, he wasn’t old enough to drink, but now that the “Donald Trump” MC has hurdled over his 21st year, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to have a sip or two. It was those one or two sips that inspired “Black Bush,” a new studio track on Mac’s newest LP Live From Space. “That night was a great night,” Mac recalled to MTV News when we caught up with him at his home studio in Studio City, California. Hear him explain in the video above.

How Does Rick Ross And Jay Z’s ‘The Devil Is A Lie’ Compare To Their Past Collabs?

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Rick Ross and Jay Z joined forces once again on “The Devil Is A Lie.” The horn-filled track has the two hip-hop heavyweights trading verses on everything from Wing Stop to the Illuminati. Fans took to Twitter to share their initial reactions to the single from Rozay’s forthcoming Mastermind album. Overall, sentiment was largely positive, especially for Jigga’s verse and the K.E. on the Track beat.

“Jay Z is king.. f–k these other rappers. its King HOV.” said Sk8boyMPHO, while Son Abraham observed, “Two kings on the BIG screen @rickyrozay. #thedevilisalie.” “They out did every song this year #TheDevilIsALie b—h I’m the proof” said Dominic Pugh.

This isn’t the first time that Rozay and Jay have collaborated. They traded fierce verses on 2006′s “Hustlin (Remix)” as well as 2010′s “Free Mason ” and of course, the recent banger “F–kWithMeYouKnowIGotIt.” Like their past partnerships, “The Devil Is A Lie” is full of tough talk and braggadocio but it may not be as club-ready as say, “F–kWithMeYouKnowIGotIt.”

Noahman 21 shared this viewpoint tweeting, “That new Rick Ross x Jay-Z record is hard, not there best collabo but still.” Danny P had other thoughts. “Ahhhhhhh sh– Rick Ross and Jay z song coming out today !!!!!!!!!!!!????????yeah yeah prolly best song of the year.”

Do you think “The Devil Is A Lie” is the hottest hip-hop track of 2013?

Kanye West Still Perplexed By Fish Sticks Joke On South Park Finale

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Fish Sticks returns! After being called a gay fish on South Park in 2009, Kanye West was once again featured on the animated show this week. A cartoon version of Ye (not voiced by him) appeared in last night’s season finale to defend the reputation of his love Kim Kardashian and denounce rumors that she’s a Hobbit.

Kanye appeared on-screen as the continuation of 2009′s “fishsticks” meme. “OK, first of all, I am not Aquaman, I am a recovering gay fish,” said the voice of Kanye. “Yes, I have met Aquaman, I have hung out with Aquaman, but the only thing I have in common with Aquaman is my love of the sea.”

As South Park fans remember, back in season 13, Yeezy became a gay fish after he mistook an aquatic penis joke. Yeezy was perplexed, being a genius and the “voice of a generation,” and returned to the sea.

The real-life Kanye found the animated joke pretty funny. ” ‘South Park’ murdered me last night, and it’s pretty funny. It hurts my feelings, but what can you expect from ‘South Park?’” he wrote on his blog at the time. “I actually have been working on my ego. … Having the crazy ego is played out at this point in my life and career. I used to use it to build up my esteem when nobody believed in me. Now that people do believe and support my music, the best response is ‘Thank you’ instead of ‘I told you so!’

Eminem And Danny Brown Bonded Over Detroit Memories

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy with reporting by Sway Calloway

It’s all Detroit love for Danny Brown and Eminem. During his visit to “RapFix Live” on Wednesday (December 11) Danny explained that he bonded with the “8 Mile” native over a discussion about their hometown, incidentally while the two were overseas in Brussels.“We kicked it one time and we pretty much talked about Detroit the whole time.” Danny explained.

Aside from being from the same town, Danny and Eminem also share the same management team with Paul Rosenberg and Goliath Management. So, what was the elusive Eminem like in person? According to Danny, down-to-earth and chill. “I like that he was super humble,” Danny remembers. ” I feel like I met Marshall…I’d like to kick it with him some more times.”

Danny, who recently released his debut album Old earlier this fall, says that talking to legends in hip-hop is always an educational process for him. “I like to get the game, you know? I like to ask advice like, “Give me the game, man!”

T.I. Shares Advice On Teaching Kids Money Management

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy with reporting by Sway Calloway and Nadeska Alexis

T.I. is a man of many talents. Rapper, actor, author and of course, father to six kids. Tip stopped by “RapFix Live” yesterday and during his visit he dished out some parenting advice on how he keeps his squad on the right path. His advice? Start ‘em from nothing!

The rapper ensures that his kids understand the value of money, despite growing up in luxury. “Start ‘em off from nothing,” he advises. “Those of us who come from nothing, who grew up with less, the one thing we do is try to afford all of our kids the things that we didn’t have. That’ s wonderful thing to do. However, when we do that, we have to make sure that we instill the values and principles that come along with us acquiring the things we now have.” He warns, “[If] we get to giving, they get to expecting.”

T.I. wants to make sure his kids, who star with him on the reality show T.I. & Tiny’s: The Family Hustle, have a strong work ethic and are not merely over-privileged. “That’s nobody’s fun,” he says.

You can catch T.I., Tiny and their kids in “T.I. & Tiny: Holiday Hustle Special.” In the animated special airing Monday 12/18 at 8PM ET/PT on VH1, the family tries to help Santa and save Christmas.
